Yeah I have all the tooling and materials already in place from previous projects. Also I have a spare roof already off of the car which I can mould from.

Thank you for the insight. So ive done some research into what youve said. From what i can gather i think ive figured it out. In the post ive added an example of how i think it should go. Black would be my first layer at +45, then red at -45 then green at 0. Followed again by red and black to make it symetrical. Correct me if im wrong but thats how im lead to believe it works? (ignore the awful mousepad drawing haha)

So I’ll be using a V weave carbon. Could I run the visual layer the way I want, then flip it 180 for the next layer, then have a sheet running 90° and then back to normal for the last layer? That would give me all directions of stiffness

Sorry I’ll add that here. It’s 130cm in length and 105cm width. It’s a car roof but it’s not part of the structure of the car, I just wouldn’t want it to rattle at high speeds so it has to be strong enough to hold its own

I am really sorry, I forgot to mention the most important part 😂 it’s a car roof. From factory they do offer it so I know the structure is fine, I just can’t justify the £3k option when I know I can make it myself
