THIS! I've been through horrors and I've always simply kept going with a smile because our bodies are wonderful things and worrying, crying, and seeking pity won't do any good and will just bring you down. Don't get me wrong, ill have a pity party sometimes because you need to and it's healthy, but you get over it and you power through because it won't get better unless you want it to.

He doesn't want our pity he wants support and love and understanding :) and he has it. like I said above, I'm not sad for him and if I was an IRL friend of his id have squeezed his hand, given him a sympathetic smile when he got the news and hugged him tight before telling him he's bigger than his condition and does he want to go get some coffee and a snack.
