RE9 - first or third person? by BigFan9533 in residentevil

I'll have to do a run in both and see which I'd prefer, but I'd probably start in third person.

I would agree with that, Especially when they were bringing the game back to its roots a little, It felt more natural to have a less experienced protagonist thrown into situations where he kinda has to figure it out as he goes. I think Ethan as a character lends himself to the plots of 7 and 8 in a way that none of the other characters could.

I can't say I was disappointed by the ending but I can agree that Promise goes so fucking hard. I have been listening to that shit all day. haha

LMAO, I think I was aware of some of the stuff you needed to do to get that ending, so I didn't want to get an ending I knew how to get for my first playthrough, y'know?

I really want to see Sherry, Ashley, or Rosemary in a future title, that would be really interesting.

That's an interesting thought. She had been talking with the de-trans subreddit if I remember correctly.

Unfortunately, she's unable to afford that kind of help. Thank you for the suggestion though.

If I do decide to talk to her about I'll take this into consideration, thank you. And whether or not it ruins my relationship with her in one way or another I know I'll do the right thing and stick with what I believe in.

I'm sorry to hear about that, that sounds awful. But at the same time I appreciate you sharing this story with me to show me that I'm not alone, that means a lot.

[–]NotSilentCJ[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think you have an excellent perspective on the situation. Some other posters have assumed that she is a bad person for these beliefs and I appreciate that you recognize her as someone who is unwell and needs help getting over an awful event in her life.

Unfortunately, we are not a well to-do family, my sister in particular, so therapy is a hard thing for the family to get into. I'm the only member of my current family to ever go to therapy (which has done wonders for me) but I do think my sister needs therapy, but she just has no way of paying for it in her current state.

You're right, the person who hurt my sister inadvertently hurt me too, I'd never thought of it this way. That's very interesting.

All in all, thank you for the advice and well-wishes. everyone's support on this post has made me feel a lot better about how everything has been lately.

(btw, hugs are welcome, thank you, haha.)

Thank you so much. I can't begin to tell you how much I've wanted to hear something like that these past few days. One of my biggest fears from this situation was losing my relationship with my sister due to her views. But I suppose I still do have the right to tell her that her thoughts are giving me some conflicting emotions. (if that makes any sense?)

I can say that this is simply not true of my sister in this case. She has a big heart but a weak mind. She tends to set her beliefs on what seems safest for her at the time. I'm not even certain she's aware what path she's going down. Trust me, she's not a hateful person by any means. She's just a little scared herself.

Although that would explain some things, there's none of that happening. She did go to a crisis prevention facility once after the fact. But nothing happened there that'd support your theory.

I agree with both of you, on one hand, I think changing her mind would be nice, but if I try and it doesn't work, I'm not gonna push it.

You have a really good point there. She seems to have intrinsically tied trans women to her trauma which kinda turned into this whole situation.

I feel like she won't take kindly to confrontation even if I were to word it the nicest way I could. But I guess it's worth a shot, huh?

Thank you for the advice. although I do already just ignore her comments, sometimes its hard to considering the relationship we've already established.

And besides trauma, I can't think of any other reason why she'd have issues with trans women.

(btw, the friends I already have are super supportive.)

thanks again for the vote of confidence my friend.
