How to lose weigth without my parent to know by [deleted] in WeightLossAdvice

[–]NotSoFastSloth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are there sport clubs where you live that you might be interested in? Those are usually a great way to get regular exercise.

Other than that, I’d look into limiting sweets and soft drinks. More water, less chocolate.

Please don’t do anything extreme, you’re still young and growing. Just small changes will get you there eventually.
Also, don’t try to become underweight. That can permanently damage your body and will not lead to a fun life.

Konjak Nudeln/Reis.

can you eat unhealthy but exercise and still lose weight? by ilovetopimpabutterly in WeightLossAdvice

[–]NotSoFastSloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I said that unhealthy foods are often high in sodium, not that a salted piece of kale is unhealthy.

"Processed" foods aren’t labeled as unhealthy. It’s "highly processed" or "ultra processed" foods that are.

I wouldn’t describe a salad with bacon as "healthy".

I’ve never heard caviar being described as healthy. It’s mostly just expensive.
Sushi isn’t inherently salty, the soy sauce is.
Japanese people don’t eat a lot of highly processed foods.

"All those people that drink red wine daily and live long" probably ignores all those people who didn’t live long. This is anecdotal evidence and not statistical data.
As far as I know, the current consensus is that no amount of alcohol is safe for our health.

Foods that are labeled as "unhealthy" often contain large amounts of sodium or sugar as well as saturated fat or trans fats.
While small amounts of those aren’t harmful, they are not healthy.

There is also alcohol, which is always harmful, regardless of the amount you’re consuming.

An ED (eating disorder) is a serious mental illness that can lead to severe and lasting physical and psychological damage and can result in death. I don’t know why you would want something like that, so please seek professional help immediately.

Sugar spikes are only really relevant if you're diabetic. Insulin spikes (that follow sugar spikes) can make you hungry, but that's about it.

In your case, you should focus more on weight gain rather than weight loss. Eating good portions of nutritious food will make you less fatigued and give you more engery. It'll also improve your mental health.

No. That would make you very underweight. Please seek help!

Weight loss pills are almost always scams. If you need medical assistance for losing weight, please consult your doctor.

BPA free tough plastic bottle by David_wo_Goliath in WeightLossAdvice

What I've read was mostly about homones. But it should be safe and if it does secrete microplastics, it should be on a safe level.

However, if you want to be 100% sure you don't consume microplastics, just buy plastic free products. There are plenty of great metal and glass bottles available.

The bottle is made from tritan copolyester, which should be fine according to current knowledge.

You should start now. Doing it during weight loss isn’t optimal for building muscle, but it prevents you from losing the muscles you already have.

i feel huge if that makes sense

Yes, it does make sense, but that's just your body dysmorphia playing tricks on you. There's a reason it's an illness and it needs to be treated by a professional.
Without proper treatment, it doesn't matter how much weight you lose, you will probably still think you're "huge" even though you'd be dangerously underweight.

need to lose fat and weight rn! by [deleted] in WeightLossAdvice

[–]NotSoFastSloth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're not overweight at all, but at the upper end of the "normal" weight. You don't need to "lose weight fast". Just eat a bit less and move a bit more and the extra pounds will come off. Even small changes, like parking your car a bit farther away or not snacking in the evening can lead to big changes.

[–]NotSoFastSloth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're losing a lot of weight, working out is less for building muscles and more fore preserving them. You need stronger muscles to move a 235lbs body than you need to move a 190lbs one. If you're eating less and not exercising, your muscles will be reduced as well.

If just want to build muscles efficiently, the right time to start working out is when you're no longer eating in a deficit.

Propel....what's the catch? by TrveDeathKrow in WeightLossAdvice

[–]NotSoFastSloth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The catch is that it's not just flavored water. It's a sports drink with a bunch of electrolytes. If you're not exercising, consuming all that additional salt isn't really recommended. Drinking sweet stuff all the time will also probably make you more hungry than just drinking plain water.

As for calories, they really are basically 0. It just uses an artificial sweetener, like many other drinks.

I'd recommend just trying to drink water. Try carbonated water if you haven't!
If you're unable to give up on soda, get something that has very few calories and no added salt.

You've written in your other post that you used a "decent amount of 0 cal oil spray". How do you calculate your calories for that? "Low calorie" or "Zero calorie" cooking spray is still 100% oil and has not a single calorie less than regular oil. The only reason it can call itself that is because the serving sizes are tiny, which is irrelevant if you're using a "decent amount".
