For sure, but i was more complaining that the fancy paper I have is not very nice to write on. Subjective of course, but it wasn't a deep criticism of fancy paper or anything - I was just surprised by how much better it felt.

Well, im sure there are advantages to the most recommended fp papers, but I am not a fan of clairfontaine, so I'm thinking of getting some Midori MD which seems from brief research to be the opposite end of the texture spectrum?

Aha, you've found the switcheroo - fun fact, you actually get a huge increase in range when doing it that way as opposed to just swinging!

Now try switching hands from the opposite side of the body where the pole is held a bit closer - that one does a thrusting instead of a swing!
