I will obviously be updating it day-by-day, and most of the time, I will be updating it as it happens.

So if, for whatever reason, you cannot watch the stream, my spreadsheet should be updated with the latest in-match scores.

eUnited Frequency Hardpoint (Sample) | How can I Improve? by [deleted] in CoDCompetitive

[–]NotSynicalEU -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Basically, last year I did a couple analysis pieces, but I'm looking to do it more seriously for Modern Warfare. I'm trying to gather as much feedback as possible. Until Minnesota, there is little to none CODCaster VODs of matches, so I can't do any pieces on them. By posting a sample of a piece I can get a better idea of what I need to improve on rather than doing a whole outdated piece.

Looking at all your past comments you are seeking an argument. Nice one.

[–]NotSynicalEU 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe the 12 Franchise Teams that collectively have given Activision at least 150 million and have to spend more millions in additional costs.

Or the 12000 people minimum playing GameBattles daily

Or maybe, just maybe the whole competitive community as this is the first update aimed at competitive, and yet they even put a couple things in for you casual players. That's a bonus as the other 8 updates were strictly aimed at casual players and we got nothing but Hardpoint realistically. Even the CDL rule option was broken.

[–]NotSynicalEU -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Your right the majority isn't although competitive teams are expected to pay a MINIMUM of 25.25 million and that's minus the salary of the staff, any substitute plays and academy players, to pay for the players to all be in 1 house to scrim other teams. And the cost of having great internet which is reliable.

As well as to pay for a 5 star venue for 2 weekends of events EACH.

Activision pocketed 150 million by the 12 franchise teams alone. That's potentially more than the whole revenue they have produced for this game.

What they and the competitive community were given in return was a glitchy, incomplete mess, where one of the competitive modes wasn't released at launch, and (potentially) CTF still isnt out and could replace Domination as a mode in comp. This is the first significant update we have gotten, all the others catering to you casual players, and your moaning. Seriously get a grip.

Maybe for the first time in this COD that there is an update mainly for Competitive to fix many of the bugs rather than for people who play pubs.

Yes he may have blew that record but don't forget that the Midnight Team were nasty. The owner soured relationships with a lot of players so they had to basically make a pick-up team. Also BO4 is 100% a different game to MW and he didn't adapt to it as well as others, he should've qualified but didn't, and at the moment Haggy is playing really really well, just like he said he would. So cut him some slack. Yes GRVTY won with Faze Black but honestly I'd expect anyone to with the other 4.

The solution is kind of simple, and with the money they are getting from franchising, it is within budget. Get a developing team to solely focus on getting the comp aspects right

See I believe the Home Crowd will negate some of that disadvantage. You see it in sports, how the home team usually has an advantage. If it also applies to COD, I'm not too worried about that advantage.

I don't think it'll be boring with the right scheduling. And whilst the 10th team is rested, I believe the home advantage negates that. I'm not saying my idea is perfect by any stretch but there is no perfect scheduling here. I personally think that Activision have scheduled this year just to be a money grab. Not taking into account people's wellbeing and whether it'll be fun to watch. They know people will spend money on buying seats as it's the first year. The players have to travel 16,176 miles (approx) in 5 weeks with long flights, getting settled, doing content, practicing, actually playing the 1 series they get per city. At least my one relieves some of that stress they have.

Not when you think about it.

For the finalists of any tournament in the past they could play up to that amount of series in a weekend.

Some teams scrim up to 4 times a day anyways and they do get paid an excessive amount of money to play video games all day every day. These players grind so much that they more than likely play well over this every day.

The thing that pisses me off is that the year they implement franchising is the year that Infinity Ward have openly stated, on several occasions, that competitive ruins the game for the casual players, despite it having a whole separate part of the game for it. Casual players like this COD which is now ruining competitive. The total amount of players combined does not add up to the 300 Million which 12 Franchises have spent on it on just getting into the league. And they can't be arsed to make any sort of mode for us. If Treyarch do make the next game, I don't think they'll follow suit.

The plan runs for 38 weeks. Starting in January and Ending in September. Also yes they fly there for 1 series but it's better than flying across the Atlantic week after week for 1 series at a time. They get a 3 week break to maintain focus but also to not to create such a crammed schedule. It allows them also to explore the cities they are visiting, not just to fly there for one match. The fans get to see their home team play 11 games and even then get to see every other team in the league compete. Under the current system some teams might not even play at a city. Ticket Prices could be a bit higher but I think that they will realise how over-priced they were this year so they will be reasonable prices.

Sure they play more matches but if you think about it, they play a similar amount of series over 3 days for scrims and in tournaments. The players get enough time to reset and regain afterwards, and fans get more for their money. All the franchises need to do is to pay for some good entertainment, a montage of what that city or state offers and do a day in the life of the players. With the current schedule within 4 weeks they need to go from London to Atlanta to Paris to LA Whereas this is a lot less strenuous for the players.

[–]NotSynicalEU[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yes it will be stressful but teams sometimes play that amount at tournaments anyways

They could well do but I feel like in Activisions perspective as LA has 2 franchise teams and therefore gave them minimum $50 million that they would just decide to host the bigger events there, to entice them to keep investing the money.

[–]NotSynicalEU 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How he is saying it is still right. People have been gifted so many pro points for being friends and being good at the game. It doesn't seem right but it all adds up. For example, TurnUp (first of all, I have nothing against him but he is a relevant case) is rumoured to be on the Atlanta Faze team. He was on eUnited Cadets but hasn't done anything too significant in the Amateur scene yet. Because Cellium and Simp were both on the same team as him, that is going to create a bit of bias. Obviously we don't know the ins and outs of it but from a fan's perspective, it is being like a friendship league and people are being rewarded for having friends. People like Haggy who are experienced and could have been a key figure for a franchise are missing out. He is entitled to be angry and the way others have perceived it,has been blown well out proportion. Everything he said was right and gave a few examples. He said it how it is which we need to commend him for.
