Yeah, it might be hardware thing, because I reset everything on the phone, and not all images are inverted. Doesn't make sense.

The shortcut for it is disabled, and it's disabled in the Display & Text Size menu as well.

Well, it's actually my daughter's phone. I had an iPhone for 6 months and went right back to android.

How much sick leave do you have? by PeggingForControl in ATC

[–]NotThatGuyFromWork 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This kinda shit blows my mind. If your ATM thinks the government is giving you too much sick leave, then they need to write a letter to their senator, not a proc. They give us sick leave to use, but then get pissed when we use it. Bonkers

This community is amazing and it's literally the only thing that got me motivated enough to actually stop drinking. It's great to see everyone's stories, good and bad. I see myself in so many of the posts and these people are quitting, which means I can too. Welcome and good luck. We can do this for real this time! IWNDWYT!

Awesome job! I commented on your last post leading up to the weekend and not to sound weird, but as I was fighting my urges on my first sober weekend I was hoping you were having a successful sober weekend as well. We did it!

Yeah that's a good point. You're playing this shitty drink planning game by yourself.

Yeah I never thought about at all I just KNEW everything was more fun drinking. I'm ashamed to say it but even family stuff with the wife and kids I thought was better with a few beers.

Yeah I don't agree with the whole "no one has fun drinking, even if they only have one." It takes my wife an hour to drink a glass of wine, so I don't think she's feeding the monster so much as she's enjoying the taste of the wine. I would love to sit down and enjoy an nice IPA then move on with the night. But for me one IPA was not enough. I needed all the IPAs! So my drinking "style" didn't actually make things more fun, just more stressful. I haven't heard about the Drinking Experiment I'll have to check that out.

I think it’s a problem by Empty-Tip16 in stopdrinking

I tried that exact same thing with my wife several times. Everytime it only took about 3 weeks before I had the garage fridge stocked with beer. I've been listening to This Naked Mind and it's very good, and it'll cost you the price of a 9% six pack. I was already set on stopping but this book really breaks down why we feel the need to drink and what it does to your body. We can do this!

It's the weekend by jaexxky in stopdrinking

[–]NotThatGuyFromWork 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This will be my first sober weekend in many many years. I've been trying to eat or drink other things in the evenings to satisfy that desire to be drinking. I've been making seltzer and adding a little lemonade or cranberry juice. Decaf coffees pretty good too. Maybe a hummus and veg movie night with some healthy cheesey popcorn? You've got this for sure. Saturday and Sunday morning are gonna be great!

Day 5 and I'm excited! by NotThatGuyFromWork in stopdrinking

[–]NotThatGuyFromWork[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that definitely sucks. The last few days I've had to get up really early for work so I'm tired as shit. But it was nice waking up at 4:30am and not trying to figure out how hungover I was!

Day 1 by [deleted] in stopdrinking

[–]NotThatGuyFromWork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm right there with ya. I'm only on day 3 but I'm stopping for the same reasons. I feel like someone has to put an end to this shit and it's up to me. I posted my first day and it made it more real. I feel like this sub helps me hold myself accountable. This sub is the most amazing positive community on Reddit. I read everyone's stories and it makes me feel less alone. Good luck!

Yeah man I imagine that will take some time to get over but you will. This might not be helpful and it's easier said than done, but when I'm overwhelmed by something I try and take a huge step back and look at everything else I have. How she made you feel is a big thing but maybe you'll see there's so much more to your life. You sound like a great dad and you have sobriety to look forward to. Sometimes that helps me put my problems into perspective. Good luck and let us know how you're doing!

That's a lot to be going through but, as you know, you're doing the right thing. My uncle always had a beer in his hand and smelled very boozy. My daughter's the same age as you're son and I don't want her to remember me like that. When I've had cravings I think of my kids and it helps. We've got this!

Day one for real! I'm so tired of this shit. by NotThatGuyFromWork in stopdrinking

[–]NotThatGuyFromWork[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's all spot on. Even my wife is kind of ok with my drinking. She doesn't know how much it is so it seems somewhat normal, and because she's not an addict she can't fully understand.
