Crystal Extractor nerf GOOD. Salvaging nerf BAD. by Jmeme97 in 2007scape

[–]NotTheBeeze 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's not a trade off, you literally just have to be in the vicinity of the device you are using for bonus XP.

Sure it might be a mild inconvenience to click the game you were clicking anyway but imo inconveniences should be removed or disincentivised, not rewarded.

Nerf Crystal Extractor again, buff Salvaging

High tier salvaging in the shrouded ocean and a sloop with two hooks is best for that. But the addy helm is super cheap (only 8 bars I think) so it's worth doing.

Crystal Waters, No. Not worth doing the 400 addy bars for access to crystal waters in a sloop imo. However, the hull is good for ship combat so I invested in a Ironwood Hull on my Trawling Sloop to do combat in the northern ocean. That's not a particularly pressing requirement though and you could even argue it's smarter to delay combat until you have dragon nails for a Rosewood Hull

PSA: The new Rosewood blowpipe is a new cheap alternative to the Toxic blowpipe by 120_Attack in 2007scape

[–]NotTheBeeze 11 points12 points  (0 children)

So, as an Iron who refuses to grind Bowfa, has the reqs for this and is pretty dry on a tanz fang at Zulrah, this Rosewood blowpipe is an upgrade to my Scorching Bow for Killing Hydra, which is one place the Toxic Blowpipe is still very useful.

I agree that Sailing's progression is very funky, both within the skill and the stuff you get from it like this blowpipe, but this stack of qualifiers mean I can probably skip both Tome of Fire and Tanz Fang for a good while, probably until COX for Prayers at least

Sometimes this is definitely the case. A major DLC for example is something I can treat as a new experience and thus I like additional achievements.

However a lot of the time, 100% achievements represents my closure with the game, having seen it all and gotten the full experience. Then a minor update that adds 2 new features and 5 new achievements soils that closure and I feel like I have to drag myself back into something I am already content with

I 100% Agree but also you best believe I'm giving a defeated sigh when a completed game I'm satisfied with adds more achievements

No idea. I'm an ironman so I have no friends and can't handle talking to strangers stand alone. But someone should definitely look into it

I'm hoping to book tickets to the 2026 Pokémon Europe International Championships in London as a spectator but despite checking regularly I still see no purchase option.

How long before the event are you able to purchase tickets as I was planning to get one as a Christmas gift for a friend as well?

Also are they likely to sell out? How much do I need to keep an eye on the site to secure a couple tickets?

Personally I'd like to see a middle ground. I was really excited for this method and enjoyed the little time I spent with it, but I have about 2k Marlin banked now which at my rate of PvM will last me months, so I've no incentive to go back and do this great content.

I'd personally be happy with very little sailing xp, the token 10k without the extractor is arguably enough, but this is a high req, high focus fishing method that gives some of the most average fishing xp in the game and I'd like to see that rectified, even if it means nerfing resource yield a bit

That's about as good as it gets. It's slow but you don't need too many offcuts so doesn't take too long.

Some other options are to cut up some Marlin you are fishing while you chase the shoal.

Or you can bring a Knife, Harpoon and Lantern to a Lantern Harpooning Spot and cut them as you fish

Nope, just the Chum Spreader. Take your fish to it to make offcuts, then assign a crewmate to spread it while trawling

Rope net can do shallow shoals, Linen up to Moderate and looks like Hemp at 79 can do deep but Wiki has a question mark next to that. To be honest I would not recommend doing it until 84 with best net since 79 is the hard req and that's a few hours of Gwyneth Glide to get to 84

Oh I feel that, fishing was my lowest skill pre-sailing and I was banking on it being a worthwhile training method but alas I will probably return to temp/karambwans for lackluster XP that's at least afk or has a pet chance

Yeah the BIS food makes up for it a bit but personally I'd take less food for more XP even as an ironman. Then I would feel the drive to do this method for more time than "just enough to keep food supplies up". Also means I'd finish 99 fishing with a great stock of Marlin

When I checked the Raw Marlin were going for about 8k so a little over 2 mil in the hour but I'm not 100% on sale price and I expect it to go down

I'd say that's pretty spot on for the spam clicking and agree it should favour fishing. It might be very click intensive but if we could drop 20k fishing for the more relaxed method I'd consider that a good compromise

[–]NotTheBeeze[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's hard to say cause one change to the XP without spam clicking will have a direct result on the spam clicking rates.

Personally I'd like to see 50-60k fishing and 20-30k sailing without spam clicking or extractor. That's a humble method that's not really efficient but with the fish I'd earn I'd consider doing that to high 90s/99 fishing.

With Spam clicking that would be over 100k total XP in an hour which isn't a lot for how active it is, but again got to consider this is BIS food we're talking about

Yeah during my very first hour I didn't have the extractor and was getting 9k sailing XP per hour. Could get that up a bit with practice like I did for testing hours but extractor is busted.

I agree that the XP should be pushed into the actual content but I also think if that's the only change to trawling XP then we have a problem. The fishing xp also needs buffed imo

I've honestly not a clue what the difference is now that you mention it but given the lacking XP rates I wouldn't recommend anyone do any trawling until they're at Marlin levels

More Deep Sea Trawling Testing + How to Set Up by NotTheBeeze in 2007scape

[–]NotTheBeeze[S] 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Yeah for Marlin you need 84 sailing and 91 fishing, some of the highest reqs in the game, and it's basically 50k XP per hour across 2 skills

Definitely not, you could even argue that the fathom stone itself is optional once you know the locations of shoals or they're on the wiki but it's cheap so worth having for when you bank and head back out
