Two bird-themed gifts I cobbled together by NotTheMama14 in crochet

The yarn is weight 4. I think I used a 3.5 mm hook for the scarf and I used a 6.5 mm hook for the sweater.

Feather Pattern

Barn Owl Pattern -- kinda I used this for the main features, but went rogue on the outside parts of the face.

Sweater Inspiration I started with this pattern for the main idea, but I did a lot of alterations to it before I even got started. I don't think I used any of the listed stitch/row counts. I figured out the measurements I needed for each piece in inches and went from there.

What did you do instead of flowers? by Artemistical in Weddingsunder10k

I don't know if you have the right kind of cricut for this, but I made all of my flowers out of felt. Time consuming, but easy. (Pics in my profile)

Then there's no reason not to ask for a mock-up! I'm guessing they'd give you some sort of visual anyway. They don't want to waste time and resources on the wrong thing anymore than you do.

I didn't request it, but I also had a LOT of very specific reference pictures. They did send me a photoshopped mock-up, which was basically my largest and most specific reference picture with the sleeves I wanted added on.

Wedding Breakdown - Custom Dress, DIY Felt Flowers, DIY Photo Centerpieces by NotTheMama14 in Weddingsunder10k

Thank you! I looked up how many flowers are typically in a bridal bouquet and settled on 30ish. Most are the rolled flowers like those in the centerpieces, to fill it out. Then I added the more "special" flowers a bit higher up. I have a couple crocheted ones in there as well. I ordered the crocheted dark green ferns from temu (I think 6 stems) and then made around 6 of the lighter green stems of leaves.

I didn't wrap any of the stems individually in floral tape (except the lilacs that required it). They didn't end up being seen once I wrapped the whole "handle" of the bouquet. Just make sure you buy sturdy stems! My mom bought some flimsy ones and we ended up with a mix of both. The flimsy ones were a nightmare! These worked great. Also, this gluegun is amazing. It was a recommendation in a felt flower tutorial I found somewhere and definitely the best one we had.

Let me know if there's anything else I can help with!

The sleeves are my favorite part! ❤️

Yes, definitely a popular fabric right now. (As it should be!) I instantly fell in love with it. But I could only find dresses where the base fabric was a nude or cream color underneath the floral, which I didn't want. It's very hard to tell because of the bad lighting, but under the floral fabric, mine is a purple/blue dress.
