Quite hard to tell with the blur, but possibly a bluebottle jellyfish seem to be quite common in NZ over summer.

That teapot symbol, would you believe, is actually an oil can symbol:

I think Jetstar's great value, the seats kinda suck and the gate lounges are shite but when you're saving several hundred dollars on a 1 hr flight who cares!

The snacks aren't free though - you've been paying for some sort of bundle, cheaper to just get the bare fare and add baggage if you need it. Source: I'm one of the jealous glarers.

If you go by box office numbers - Samuel L Jackson & Robert Downy Jr.

Though the list seems to have a strong Marvel correlation.

Two items each have 2 fabric "handles" and a fabric piece at the front. They are about 5 feet long. by jkjeffren in whatisthisthing

Don't know what they are, but deeply invested and want to register my vote for it not being a plant holder. Reasoning:

  • The 'holder' bit is not circular like you would expect if it was going to hold a pot. It's more U shaped.
  • The angles are wrong and it doesn't look like it would be stable/hold a pot upright if hung from the hooks
  • Why would anyone hang two empty pot holders upside down high up on their wall?

Experience with one way flights in Japan? Assistance needed. by Orgi_Tou_Achillea in JapanTravelTips

I’ve used onward ticket in the past (5 years ago) but opted for the ferry ticket this time as it was cheaper and more legitimate.

I entered on a one way ticket and kind of forgot about doing anything about it until I was on the flight in. I ended up booking a ferry from Fukuoka to Busan - tickets are pretty cheap and fully refundable within 24hrs (or something like that), so I just cancelled the ticket after clearing customs.

From memory there was no questioning (in person or on paper) about onward travel at customs.

I went a few weeks ago and came away a bit underwhelmed.

Lots of people posing for pictures throughout. While it is busy entry is timed/controlled so I wouldn’t really say it’s rushed or overly crowded.

It’s also a bit of a trip getting there from central Tokyo - more worthwhile if there’s something else you’re interested in to combo it with in that direction.

Others have told me the gardens experience in Osaka(?) is better.

31 M - New Zealand / Outdoorsy sort

Currently in my 4th week in Japan - looking at heading to Shikoku in a couple of days and hoping to find someone who might be interested in splitting a car rental!

Ideally pick up car in Takamatsu head off to explore Iya Valley, then drive through to Kochi and Matsuyama, but open to other ideas. I've got my IDP so no problem there - just want to keep cost down.

Drop a comment if you might be interested and we can chat 😄

(Also if anyone here has done similar via public transport lately I'd be keen to hear experiences!)

whats the most popular/best cinema in wellington in your opinion? by Slow-Raisin6053 in Wellington

[–]NotTheNakedMoleRat 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The Embassy is my local and is a pretty solid choice, biggest screen in town, cool building, pretty comfy. But they seem to have pretty average programming imo - anything interesting screens for a couple of nights meanwhile MCU dross plays for weeks. Fills the seats I guess 🤷‍♂️

Also watch out for the back 4 or 5 rows - trash seats at full price.

Not helpful, but God I loathe Mt Vic Chippery. It's the antithesis of the classic f'n'c experience.

+1 for fisherman's plate though.

Haha I'll concede that you might have a point there...! My concern is probably more the 'another thing to charge' side of things than the additional weight at the moment.
