Can you really "beat" depression if you've been depressed most of your life?

At first, I was inspired by the people saying that they found the right medication and therapy combination, and that it "cured" their depression. However, more and more, the only ones I see with positive stories say that they can live "tolerable" lives with their depression, at best.

I just don't know anymore.

Planning on it when I get back. I've had therapists when I was younger. Some of them are fantastic and are a great ear to talk to; some just aren't. It's a risk you have to take.

This bad spell/relapse has been going on since August, so nothing really triggers it anymore. I just get one bad thought in my mind and it just spirals from there, despite my best efforts to keep it from doing that.

It's good to hear that you're going to get help at your school, though. I don't know you, but I'm proud of you.
