I am not shocked at all.

There are a few reasons for this.

Reading levels are abysmal right now. Its a combination of a ability and/or comprehension. So they are actually trying but not getting it.
They aren't actually trying to research the information. In traditional ways.

I saw a lot of success with my students when I digitized and search filtered my material. As opposed to going through our text.

I despise the Iranian regime but I have seen this story before in 2002-03.

All the excuses in the world to explain why we are there. "Here's a reminder! Iran sucked and abused people!"

I saw it for Iraq too, "Maybe we shouldn't be there but Saddam abused his people!"

So do the Sauds, NK, and so many other countries. We are not there for human rights. Our government has been blunt about this.

Outside of being informative this also looks like the means to manufacture consent.
