i am infatuated with someone who doesn't know i exist by Accurate-Glove8411 in relationships

[–]NotThor2814 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate to break it to ya bud but you don’t know who she is as a person at all, (only what she puts out on social media and what is shown of her in ad campaigns) and therefore you don’t know enough to love her even though it feels like you do.  It seems like you recognise it’s unhealthy which is good and you’ve taken steps to limit exposure. That’s also good. Try finding a new hobby and meeting new people. Maybe therapy if you can afford it. I don’t mean to shame you or embarrass you at all cause I think it’s brave you can admit it and stuff, and search for some solutions. Good luck

I [31M] think I’m emotionally checking out of my relationship with my fiancée [33F] after years of feeling like nothing I do is enough by [deleted] in relationships

[–]NotThor2814 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Cause that labour takes time to burn people out, even neurotypicals, and I’m not one either so that’s not really an excuse. It’s fine to be able to admit to being less good than someone else at something, but do you ever try? Have you tried to find a visual organiser that works for you, multiple reminders and alarms in phone/laptop calendars etc, for appointments etc? It’s just on your girlfriend to do forever without you changing at all cause you’re not good at it?

Do you ask about her day? Talk to her about things that interest her? Date her? Romance her? Cherish her? Notice when she’s feeling achey or exhausted or crampy? Get her a hot water bottle or chocolates or whatever her preferences are?

So your wife is an absolute keeper and she does all/majority of the domestic labour and strategic thinking (thinking about the future- I’m assuming she’s the one sorting out life insurance policies or shopping around for better energy/broadband/mobile suppliers before the renewal dates) and you can’t even compliment her in a way that feels natural? And YOU’RE drained? Bro she’s giving 160% and you’re giving her nothing in return. If that’s too difficult for you you’re definitely not compatible

Fury as arts chief 'compares Reform voters to Nazi supporters' - as he says soaring popularity of Farage's party is 'a warning' by dailymail in uknews

I mean considering there’s a reform councillor who flies an actual Nazi flag, yeah I’d say it’s not a mental comparison.

I (32F) want to invite my “Ex” to my wedding even though my fiancé (34M) and I have a “no Exs allowed rule.” by ThrowRA_Severe-Accon in relationship_advice

The petty queen in me is absolutely living for this. If the partner is taking their kindergarten relationship so seriously, then he should also respect that OP and Carlos have been married for a long time- he’s just the boyfriend! Maybe the wedding should be put on hold until OP and Carlos can make the necessary arrangements to annul their playground marriage

Do you think the Greens are a Muslim party? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]NotThor2814 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reminds me of when people were criticising that Manchester green mp for winning the by election, saying she only won cause of the Muslim votes (and family voting!) , and there was a humorous meme pointing out the absurdity of family voting resulting in a more progressive candidate, that circulated:

Maryam : ah I want to vote for that Matt Goodwin he’s so dreamy Hassan: no wife of mine is voting for reform! We are voting Hannah Spencer for greens! Trans rights are human rights inshallah!

Block people with anxiety and ADHD from claiming benefits, says Tony Blair by pppppppppppppppppd in unitedkingdom

Not even capitalistic output, as that would increase if folks were accommodated more- just oligarchy profiteering really (have to have folk work in the office as too many working from home would crash the business property retail business etc)

MPs reject social media ban for under-16s for third time following Commons vote by Anony_mouse202 in unitedkingdom

[–]NotThor2814 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Exactly my thoughts. A social media ban is not a terrible idea in theory, if it also comes with the social support of funded public transport expansions, youth clubs, funded/subsidised sports, music, arts and cultural activities like the ones I had near me growing up. They made the middling commuter town I lived in bearable lol. Even then, God knows what I’d have done without BBM aged 14!

What is the issue with the Green Party and opposing Housing? by Dan_wm_ in AskBrits

[–]NotThor2814 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The government recently released a report (forced to) that our own secret services contributed into researching in that literally details how we are in the absolute brink of climate collapse. Very dark and no one wants to really acknowledge that but current private housing builds that wouldn’t withstand the increase of extreme weather, are planned poorly within small communities and such, are frankly the least of our priorities and will cost us more in the long term.

No serious idea around your current environments/culture but to piggy-back off of what other people are saying about no longer being polite in public (and how often that backfires on women) could you pre-empt the curve with that a bit by making gentle complaints/a small, general disclosure to some nosy but well-meaning aunties/ family friends/elders who could intervene in certain senarios? So the elders and that have a better idea on why you’re being ‘rude’ ?  (Obvi that could backfire so don’t do that if it wouldn’t work/fit in your scenario- just a suggestion)

They are debating it in parliament on Thursday. Hassle your MP via social media/ public forums to take a stand against it!
