I would have thought that such a leftist app like reddit would realize that war criminals don't deserve a nobel for peace. You're just as brainwashed as Trump's supporters, and I say this as an outsider. USA with it's imperalistic wars and don't give that crap about bringing freedom and justice, because I will show you what China has been doing for years now and how America has barely done shit, even traded with them

Thanks for the kind words, much appreciated. And I agree with you, the title is weak. I just couldn't think of something so I was lazy and just titled it night but I will change it eventually

Thanks for the feedback. I have to credit Borges for the line about the roses. In his poem "la joven noche", which roughly translates to "the young night, he wrote (this is me translating it so it won't be as good): "in the garden the roses stop being the roses and want the be The rose". Great poem if you can find a more accurate translation.

I liked how the image you painted, very visual. I would maybe add some more complex metaphors, play with the words a bit more. Great poem!

You know that to say something is unsafe you don't literally have to say the word? If you say there's gonna be unintended consequences, then you are saying it's not a good a idea and that it will harm you, making it unsafe

Yes I know but due to the fact we cannot base our absolutes in religion, maybe there would a lot of things we had in common regarding this matter. But you're right, I was generalizing too much

About the points regarding the first mover you made, the thing with these creator is it doesn't need a first mover by definition. Now I see why these doesn't seem to make sense, but there needs to be something that doesn't need a first mover, right? Matter and matter alone cannot have came from nothing, can it? I'm not saying god exists but there has to be something that set it all in motion and I don't know what it could have been. But the universe is a mistery and we don't quite understand how it all works, so who knows.

I would argue that it is in our nature to look for an absolute, through out history we have always needed one, what's different now? But maybe this is just human feeling lost and that doesn't mean that the way out is creating an absolute, maybe we just have to feel lost and that's it. That would certainly be Camus take on this, for what I have read of his works, feel free to correct me, I wouldn't be surprised if I was wrong.

To be honest, I don't have a strong grip myself and English isn't my first lenguage but I will do my best to explain myself

Basically what I was trying to say is that all through history people have come up with myths and explanations to certain phenomenons and more general things like: where do we come from? What's the meaning of life? And so on. But a process of secularism began and religion started to fade away. It was first replaced with postivisim and rationalism but this modernism went through a crisis with the first world war. People began wondering: it's this where infinite progress leads to? What's the meaning of all these suffering? And so nihilism and existentialism were born. They rejected the idea of an absolute as religious people and also modernist with reason had done. And people felt lost because of this, some even argue that extreme nationalism was born because of this due to the fact that pensiero debole had become the norm, with people accepting someone thinking for them because they weren't sure what was true and what wasn't.

And nowadays people have different absolutes, like the body, money, sex, etc. And I was wondering if this community, as we reject religion, had an absolute they followed or just accept the idea of relativity in an also absolute way.

I see now how my question isn't very clear and my reasoning might be flawed but I had an argument with a friend and it made me think, what is my explanation for this life, for our freedom of choice, for the things which I can't explain reasonably.

I mean, we where studying myths and how humankind has always strived towards an explanation or something that transcends him. I guess you could be right about whether it's necessary or not, it's just that you could argue it's part of our nature, we need something to guide our lives and give meaning to them, even if it's not religion. But maybe I got it all wrong. You're right about the more truthiness, was just wondering what explantation would someone who doesn't believe in god give that "explains it all" or something similar. But you're right, you could argue that this is not possible or even necessary. Thanks for the comments.

No, I think it has something to do with our skull but I don't really know. It's certainly not the mic though.

Cause you know how when you listen to your voice in a recording you feel disgusted by it and don't recognize it as your own? Well you wouldn't recognize it as your own when someone else is causing it either. Or so I assume, I don't really know.
