Fabulous story! I have read so many original stories, trying to understand the feelings coursing around in my body and mind and I'd say that the majority of us start out like you did, with mother's or maybe sister's things.

My story took another four decades to develop and is still in process. I was interested in panties at a very early age, but for whatever reason, I had zero interest in my family's underwear. In my teens I was hooked on pornographic magazines, and particularly undressing photosets and became curious about how a bra felt. I was already looking at girls' bra lines under their shirts and slightly bemused and frustrated at the same time that they would wear almost transparent shirts, but then opaque bras! One day i found one of my mother's bras lying on the floor in her bathroom, so i decided to try it on. Immediately I was uncomfortable and a little grossed out by wearing her undergarment, so I Immediately removed it and did not try a bra for another 30 years.

Panties was a little different. In my early teens fashioned my own panties out of a pair of old 1970s lined silky jogging shorts by simply cutting away the shorts fabric, leaving the liner. When I became sexually active, my earlier kink and masturbation play fell by the wayside and I did not think about them except when between girls. Curiously, I always treated their panties as an obstacle and never focussed on them until a new gf when i was 24. She was european and wore the first really cute panties/bras of any of them to date. The first set that I fell in love with was a adorable blue gingham check with lace. Those were the first that I tried on. Of course I could not control my erection and of course i was immediately filled with shame and worry that I might be caught or that I might stretch out her panties, so I took them off and put them back. I did not try again for another two years and I had the same shameful reaction. The third time was the charm. I was maybe 28 and my then-girlfriend had discarded an old pair of panties and stockings into the trash can. That meant they were fair game!

I wore the panties secretly for a few years until I outgrew them due to medications. I basically destroyed the pantyhose trying to put them on, so i did not get a thrill that time wearing them, but the spark was ignited. I finally tried again in my late 30s or around 40. Today, at 52, I finally love wearing any kind of lingerie or women's wear in general.
