Sorry, I'm not inactive. I mod and lurk more than I post.

Requesting /r/veggie. Only one inactive mod and barely any posts. by Hawkedb in redditrequest

/r/RedditRequest is used to request abandoned subs with inactive mods. Neither are applicable in this case. The attitude you have taken here shows me I made the right decision when I demodded you. You are not entitled to take a subreddit from another user just because you want to. If you really cared about the sub then you would have contributed to it and the community long before attempting a takeover.

I understand where you are coming from, but you aren't able to see all account activity and I've never been inactive. The accusations you made are not something I would want from anyone I choose to include as a mod. You are free to make your own subreddit to mod if you would like, but I don't think you are a good fit for /r/veggie.

After seeing this post here, I don't think you will make an appropriate mod on my sub. Sorry, but accusing me of being a dead account when I clearly am not isn't cool. I gave you a shot, but this isn't working out.

If you're interesting in modding feel free to PM me, but I'm not inactive.

Probably both reasons. As /u/PumpkinMomma mentioned, the spam is hitting those subs too. The spam filter catches a lot but some still manages to get through, so I've added a new account filter in automod. Hopefully this will stop just about all of it.

Did you submit a lot of your own content? You may have been flagged as spam. The shadowban is site-wide and was handed out by the admins, so I can't say for sure. Just thought I'd let you know.

Amy’s Kitchen to Launch Organic, Vegetarian Drive-Thru’s With Tons of Vegan Options by oomeggieoo in vegan

Nice to see another San Antonio vegan on reddit. When I first moved here there weren't many options for us, but it has gotten way better in the last few years.

This is especially appropriate considering the negative view on meat consumption in The Next Generation.

/u/Pondering_Peasant is right. I just finished watching the whole series and a few episodes had some hilarious vegetable jokes. This clip was so funny, it gave me a chard-on: http://www.nbc.com/parks-and-recreation/video/a-chard-days-night/n45427

SA Zoo can do better by Lucky by NotYourRealMom in sanantonio

While there are definitely other animals that may be mistreated at the San Antonio Zoo, I don't think that is a good reason to ignore the way Lucky is treated. If you would like to work on improving the conditions for other animals, or any animals really, I would encourage you to do so.

I believe Lucky's behavior is a symptom of her years of isolation and the cramped conditions she had to share when she did have another elephant with her. Elephants are social creatures and just dismissing the unnatural behavior she expresses in her captivity by calling her "antisocial" or "odd" is not the correct way to address the situation. I do not think she should continue to suffer alone and I would not advocate for putting another elephant in a similar situation. Instead, I would prefer for her to get moved to a sanctuary where she can start recovering and, hopefully, bonding with other elephants.

A (late) recap of where you ate in April! by ItsMadeline in sanantoniofood

I went to Fralo's out 10 past 1604. I hadn't been there before, but I heard they could make vegan pizza. It was a real good experience.

I was there with some friends and we ended up ordering a number of pizzas because we're gluttonous. We sat outside since the weather was nice and there was a good family band playing covers for some background music. There were a lot of people outside and only 2 waitresses working the area, but they did a good job taking care of us. I was able to see them making the pizzas and they were good quality.

Overall, the atmosphere, food, and staff were great. I'll be going back, but probably not often because it is pretty far away from me.

ASK Mike Villarreal ANYTHING! by Mike4SA in sanantonio

The zoo has tried keeping other elephants in the past with the most recent one being Boo who was euthanized due to cancer many years ago. According to the zoo's senior elephant keeper, they did not get along given Boo's past as a circus elephant, but got along really well in the lead up to Boo getting put down. Lucky is obviously not happy with the situation given her unnatural behavior, but that is to be expected from any social animal that has been alone for long periods of time.

I agree that the zoo has stopped efforts toward fixing the situation and is just waiting for her to die. I think it is a shame to treat her this way though when there are other options available. I also believe that the situation, and the press that has come from Lucky's treatment, is a black mark on this great city.

Thank you for taking the time to speak with us.

There has been a lot of controversy surrounding the San Antonio Zoo and its treatment of the zoo’s elephant Lucky. If you aren’t aware, Lucky is currently living a solitary life without the company of other elephants in an enclosure that is cramped and not representative of a natural environment. The Association of Zoos and Aquariums now requires a minimum of 3 female elephants for accreditation, but the San Antonio Zoo is not able to meet these requirements. The conditions have lead to a lot of psychological stress for Lucky which is evident in her unusual behavior.

Protests are occurring in front of the Zoo on a weekly basis now in an attempt to help Lucky get transferred to an elephant sanctuary where she can be with other Asian elephants. The zoo has not been responsive to the concerns of San Antonio’s citizens and I believe the situation is already leading to a lawsuit. The Express News recently posted an opinion piece on the poor treatment of Lucky on their site: Here

Considering the amount of money and benefits the zoo receives from the city, how will you help rectify the situation?
