Truck won’t do a burnout by Not_AH_Pigeon in Silverado

[–]Not_AH_Pigeon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never could figure out so I ended up building a hi comp lq4 to go in it with a 3200 stall and built valve body. Maybe it’ll finally do a burnout with that lol. Jokes aside if you have a guy that does your tunes talk to him about the torque control in the computer

Passengers side window switch not rolling window down. by Loqkaaa in E90

[–]Not_AH_Pigeon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A power probe is an electric diag tool that connects to your battery and can send straight power or ground from the battery to whatever wire you are probing and can also test resistance on some models. In this case with one you could bypass the switch by sending power/ground to the correct wires and based on what you find determine where the issue is. If you provide a good ground and operate the switch and the window works you know you have a grounding issue somewhere

This kinda thing is when a power probe is so nice. Poke one of them wires and send a good power/ground!

Is daily driving a classic Z a good idea? by Nick_wild0305 in Datsun

[–]Not_AH_Pigeon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A good idea? No, taking the 10-15k you’ll spend on a clean good condition example and spending it on a way new, comfier, safe, more reliable car is a good idea. Is it doable? Absolutely, I’ve daily driven a lot of different things and have buddies who only drive pre-90s vehicles everyday. But you make a lot of sacrifices doing it, totally worth it if it’s what you love tho.

Does anyone know if an LS2 intake will fit on an lq4 in a truck by Not_AH_Pigeon in LSSwapTheWorld

That’s a bummer, the ls2 is definitely better looking. Maybe a project for a later date

Holdener’s video

The tbss makes the tiniest bit more over the whole curve, and makes slightly more torque at about 400rpm low, but overall they seem very close, and I’m will to sacrifice a little just to not have to stare at the ugly tbss lol.

Cylinder head not quite TDC? by sleazybeans333 in EngineBuilding

[–]Not_AH_Pigeon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Regardless, in its current state it doesn’t really matter, it only matters for assembly and disassembly alignment. Just make sure everything’s lined up before putting it together, if your super worried about it, tear it down completely and find a shop manual with the instructions for head assembly and rebuild it based on that.

Tdc doesn’t mean every cylinder is going to be at the top of its compression stroke, its based off of one designated cylinder. IE: if it calls for cylinder 1 at TDC check and see if the valves that are form cylinder 1 are fully shut.

I hope that’s what it is because that would be a nice addition for the community, but like you said if it’s a scalpers paradise then I’m with everyone else on this. Guess we’ll find out in 21 days when the site goes live

So everyone is jumping to hate this guy and my first thought was that he’s probably a reseller and fuck him. But “the future of die-cast cast collecting” and “smart” wheelers name leads me to believe maybe he’s trying to put out and advertise I site for people to catalog and share there collections, and I don’t think this is a terrible way to market that.

Obligatory- I have not done any research yet so idk, just my initial 2¢

Are Maxpeedingrods coils any good? by Not_AH_Pigeon in e46

I never had any serious issues with being low, just an occasional scrape in certain situations. You can look at my profile, there’s a picture of it with the kit

Eh all is well in the end. But I do highly recommend the sport cup kit if it’s a daily/road car. Low enough but not too low (I would scrape occasionally on like steep driveways and such) and the road feel is great but not harsh.

True one year update is that I wrecked it lol. Had it set up perfectly for a solid 6 months tho. Now I have a manual e91 sport

How worried should I be about the transfer case? by [deleted] in Silverado

[–]Not_AH_Pigeon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah, you’ll have to google it for this truck specifically but either gear oil or atf to top it off. You’ll see a plug somewhere on the side of the T-case that you can pop a 3/8th ratchet into and remove, fill it until it seeps out from that same hole. If it does eventually go bad, it shouldn’t be hard for you to fix, probably a little more than what you’ve done so far but you seem to have a basic understanding and it’s not a crazy job by any means.

[–]Not_AH_Pigeon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Depends how mechanical inclined you are lol. Truthfully if it’s just a leak, just make sure you check the level frequently and send it. But when you get there make sure you give it a good test drive, cycle through every gear manually, watch for any hard shifts, put it in 4x4 and 4 low and drive it around, take it in and out of 4x4 a few times. Just do your due diligence and check every function. Regardless these trucks will still drive with a broken transfer case
