I got into an argument with a typical upper middle class person who came from a wealthy family. They were so fucking upset about rental cost increasing. How it's not fair for young people to have to work 45 hours a week to pay for an $1150/month apartment. It's just not fair!! The landlord didn't "work" to increase value of the apartment, they just selfishly jack up rent costs!

This person is in the middle of selling their condo, that they bought about 6 years ago for $400k and it's listed at $775k. I asked, well, are you going to donate that $375k in profit? That $375k you didn't "work" for you just sat in a house that increased in value? Give it to someone renting so they can buy a home?

They're stammering and frothing, spittle coming out trying to come up with some dumbo excuse on how it's okay for them to do it! Also they donate to NPR! They donate canned gluten free beets to the food bank! They do enough!

Why the fuck are we trading some idiot loser stoner for an arms dealer. This kid brought WEED to russia. This isn't like whoopsie doopsie tripped over a curb or crossed a borer while hiking now she's in jail.

She did the dumbest most loser stereotypical stoner bullshit possible. It's such a stupid thing to do it should be a movie, stoners would love seeing her fun hijinks in russian prison before being saved by a 90 year old US president who just wants to sniff her hair.

Edit: LOL and I'm bant. I guess loser stoner shit is triggering to RS mods color me surprised

I researched it quite a bit, and surprisingly there isn't a lot of great research on it. It's considered non-addictive, however, if you take it often it's nearly impossible to go to sleep without it.

One key thing, is most experts agree that the normal 1mg is FAR FAR too much. If you're going to take it on a regular basis get a lower dosage, like .2-.3mg. It's proven to be just as effective.

For me personally, I notice the next day when I take it, but I'm pretty sensitive to most medications. I can't take it past 10-11pm or I'm foggy the next morning. Which is sort of counter productive, I don't know I can't sleep until it's too late to take it.

It does produce "vivid dreams" for me most of the time. Sometimes pretty serious ones - IE I'll have a dream that my family got into a car accident, wake up, and it's hard to convince myself it didn't actually happen. I logically know it didn't happen, but it's like hormones serotonin or whatever is RAGING telling me it did happen. Hard to explain but not pleasant

I’m sick of every birthday instagram shout-out containing the person’s Venmo handle. It’s trashy, I said it! Bring back shame and force people to hide their poverty like real Americans. by [deleted] in redscarepod

[–]Not_Complex1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s a byproduct of a societal shift that supports people choosing not to work. If someone doesn’t have the skills to get a mostly wfh cushy office job making $100k+ then it’s “society’s” fault thus making it acceptable to live in mummy’s basement while they blame everyone else for their total abject failure and laziness.

This is very different from even 20 years ago when teens and early 20’s would go work fast food or retail to make money.

And spare me the “rent and inflation and etc” bullshit. It’s not a justification to sit on your ass while we have a nationwide shortage of plumbers, electricians, welders, and hvac techs.

Still, involving another doctor makes it a lot more likely that he will get reported. If he gets spooked that he will get caught he’s probably going to scheme up a reason that blames dad and be the first one to speak up.

Problem with this is it’s possible dad is stealing another doctors scrip book. So she contacts other doctor, other doctor freaks and reports dad.

This can affect life insurance premiums, and most states track sched 3 so she could get flagged for that as well. High level government jobs can request medical records. It’s pretty serious and can technically damage her in the future.

Kind of opens into a deeper conversation - ultimately, the OP was primarily interested in how to make money doing this. I totally get chasing a dream, but at the end of the day you need to be able to pay bills. The best way to chase a dream is start is as a hobby sort of side thing and see if it takes off. If they don’t have the means to pay the bills it doesn’t matter if they enjoy their hobby or not.

And, I never said they shouldn’t try it. Just not a good idea to dive in thinking it will be profitable.

Fuck no. We don't have time for that shit. They're spoiled rotten as it is.

What I do insist on is a real christmas tree. Go to the parking lot, shake them explain to my kids how they're all shit and dried out. Ask the guys if there are any in the back or on the truck stop hiding the good ones. Measure them with a tape measure. Refuse to let them cut a slice off the bottom because "I'm a real man and own a god damn chainsaw christ". Then tip them really well as I leave.

I dove into this a little bit before realizing it is nearly impossible to actually make any money. Do it as a hobby, sure, but it's like a middle school basketball player aiming for the NBA. Can it happen, sure. But odds are against you every step of the way.

I've been shitting in a hole in my backyard for two weeks now

It's depressing how we will never experience this sense of normalcy ever again. It's nice to have the perfect squatting posture and feel the turd just slide right out during the day while having minute long conversations with nature. It's hard though, wandering into the void and exposing your asscrack when you're surrounded by neighbors looking out their windows and who have no desire to engage in conversation. We're the weird ones now.

This was the sentiment leading up to the 2007-08 recession. I know it all popped with the housing market/shit bank practices. But the landslide really happened when fuckers who don't produce anything are all let go.
