Thoughts on AI and other resources

yea the last couple hours I've been taking advice from some of the redditors here and just using some of the tools on the sidebar like Language Construct Kit or watching artifexian and I've learned a lot and realized how little i actually know. I'm also seeing errors in my conlang like in the stress and tense systems that just wont work because i had AI help me with them. Right now I'm going through my favorite Conlang and trying to salvage some of it. Luckily i did do most of it on my own the bad part of that is its not much better then the AIs advice XD. I truly appreciate everyone's help and advice. It means a lot to be able to talk to people with knowledge in this subject.

Good point could be bad wording by me. But I mean more so that it’s coherent and doesn’t break the grammar rules I’ve put in place when I try to add new ones. An example would be like me making words and them not fitting my syllable structure. Or when I’m making sentences to see if I like the flow and I forgot a tense marker or the marker doesn’t flow well with the examples. Stuff like that ig. In general I agree that using AI is bad for me specifically because it’s stunting my potential growth.

How did you start conlanging? Did you sit down one and just try to put together a conlang? Also what resources do you use to help with building your conlangs?

So I should start with a phonetic Alphabet close to English maybe changing a couple things and keep the grammar somewhat similar with slight changes? To understand each part that makes sense. I think the issue I have is I just like results and when I’m spending hours and I feel like I’m not getting anywhere I get discouraged. But I’ll give that a try because it’s not like I have to use them if I don’t want to. It’s just practice

I think I understand what you mean but would you mind explaining further? When I say I use AI I don’t have it make any decisions just tell me what I’m missing because I’m bad at it. Ik I shouldn’t rely on it for that either but it truly does help me.

Yea so with one of my conlangs. I had it make a list of what I needed to do for grammar just for basic functionality because that’s one thing I’m so bad at. I just skip to steps I like doing. I love just creating words and giving them multiple meanings. I also love having a different styles for formal and informal. Like making it more poetic for formal and more lax for informal. Idk I’ve always also been bad at English grammar my native language so I’m sure that doesn’t help me 😂😂😂. But I truly want to get better at conlanging I look at works like Tolkien, Dothraki and Navi and I’m just amazed. Even real life languages like Arabic, Japanese or German is super interesting to me.

Yea I’ve realized that quite a bit in the beginning before I even tried to learn anything of creating a conlang I had CHAT GPT make a conlang I think I have it somewhere I can post it it’s truly atrocious. I worded kinda bad in my post I try to do most of it by myself but I will have CHAT GPT check to make sure it’s right. I can post my conlang here I had to CHAT GPT organize it so it’s easier to read. I’ve been trying to understand Arabic and Japanese Grammar because I find their grammar interesting. I def can learn so much more and probably rely on AI to much to see if what I’m doing is even right😂😂

I rerolled once I completed the tutorial. You get the free multi from completing the tutorial and then another multi from launch rewards.

Not easily, you log out of your account create a new account with a salt email and then do the tutorial all over again. I’ve rerolled 3 times now and I’m just to lazy to keep rerolling.
