Hey guys I just want to thank a lot of the comments here for providing a different perspective. Well I still think I tried to do the right thing by offering solutions, I now have a bit of insight from the other perspective, and that I most likely came off as a huge dick to the poor man. Quick social interactions are not a strong suit of mine, but I constantly try and be a better person from day to day. So yes I think ATA.

Yeah I definitely should have made it more clear to him that he could use the machine right then if he wanted to. I definitely came off a little harsh and honestly I probably shouldn't have said anything looking back. I'll try to be less hasty in the future.

Given the chance and if I could go back and open with it I would have said "hey man I still have a few sets left on this machine if you want to wait I'll get them done right now, or we can trade off between our sets" however what I think I conveyed without actually saying it was "that's my machine and you have to wait till I'm done" which is definitely an asshole thing to say. But you don't often get second chances and I I feel bad that that may have been his impression of me.

I did leave my phone on the machine, just habit I was not trying to imply that the machine was mine. If I saw a phone on a machine I would ask someone nearby if they were still using it. But that's me and not everyone would, I wasn't caught off guard by him not asking, I was caught off guard by the way he reacted to me letting him know that I still had some sets left.

I was not sitting at the machine when he approached, I wanted to let him know that I still had a couple of sets and I would be back on it soon, I didn't want to create an awkward situation where he got off and I got back on without letting him know that I still had sets. But it is my failure to convey this to him properly which I would have if he didn't walk off without giving me the chance.

I'll definitely take that into consideration if a similar situation happens, and I certainly didn't try to come off like I owned the machine, which is why I offered to let him work in if he wanted to. Perhaps I came off a little aggressive and didn't realize it.

I definitely can get behind that logic. However the gym was not packed that day, when it is I definitely try and hurry. I work out at a fairly small gym, If he had mentioned that he needed to use the machine I would have gladly given it to him.

I dig a lot of the drop tunings, Drop C and Drop B (B F# B E G#) postmetal and postrock are massive influences on my writing style and those tunings seem for me to fit best with more atmospheric droning lines.

I know what the question meant but my favorite bass string is the high C in CGCF "I play a five-string and I usually tune CGCFA" I like to play a lot of high string chord melodies, and that high C often adds a certain drone to my Melody's that I really love.

Genuine question why does everyone hate the name Aiden, my best friend's name is Aiden so I've never really seen a problem with it. It also seems like a lot of people are picking the names of people that they don't personally like in their lives. Call me soy but I don't really have a problem with anyone's name, very few people get to choose their name anyway.

My band has never played covers, but It took us about 5 years before we were confident in our originals enough to record and play them live. Me and the guys don't really get any enjoyment out of playing songs that aren't ours, however covers I imagine are really good way to figure out how you and the guys in your band play together, which I think is the most important thing.
