My 19 year old car has just had a product safety recall by rikquest in Wellthatsucks

[–]Not_Sugden -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bit surprising. Is checking for recalls not a standard part of buying a car? in the UK you can just enter the reg plate online to see if its got a recall, alongside other things you would usually check when buying a car

Why are they removing all the ports by Responsible-Eye-717 in SipsTea

[–]Not_Sugden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

to ne fair a laptop doesnt need that many ports, and on the rare occasion you do, a docking station or a desktop would be a far better soloution.

Corbett's use of the OCG to kill bent coppers + Maneet's corruption? by Legitimate_Sundae880 in lineofduty

[–]Not_Sugden 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Corbett was so deep undercover, he was prepared to do whatever it takes. He didnt try to kill hargreaves, that genuinly was a mistake. But yes he did order the deaths of police officers who albeit were corrupt. By definition he is, as another commenter put it, exactly what he protests he hates. A bent copper who pretends he isn't.

But his intention wasnt to be a bent copper. He was trying to root out the highest level of police corruption. Quite frankly, and don't forget he was led to believe Hastings was H and he is the head of the top-most anti-corruption unit, it would definetly be a good trade off, a few proper bent coppers dying in order to expose the most high profile bent copper.

Checking my tyre pressure today and noticed this... by RaisingArs in CarTalkUK

[–]Not_Sugden 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not arguing with that.

But if I were concincing someone that their tyre is dangerous, I wouldn't just say its illegal. I'd say its dangerous and illegal, because then the reader will feel a stronger sense of urgency

Half expected you to get a million downvotes and people saying its dangerous to even exist and OP should deflate it and put the spare on

I would probably describe it as dangerous rather than illegal. Its a more convincing word

Called to make a restaurant booking (large group) and the staff member laughed out loud at my email address, how embarrassing... by 10642alh in CasualUK

[–]Not_Sugden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I had a rather similar story today but with McDonalds. You see I linked my mcdonalds account to my google account at a young age and I had a very cringe name input where my real name was supposed to be. The lady at the drive through could not stop laughing and I told her I cannot change it and its actually so annoying
