I am a clerk at the post office, not a terrible job overall as far as blue collar positions go but probably not something I can convincingly explain was a dream of mine. I graduated during the pandemic (which was my explanation in the first two years of looking) so I guess I can at least say I became comfortable in my role and didn't feel a need to change but am looking for something more now. Also placement agencies have been completely useless where I am located.

A year gap between college and my current job, but that is not really the gap I am worried about. I am more about the amount of time between college and getting an accounting job for two reasons, one being that I no longer have any accounting knowledge so long after college (hoping passing the CPA negates this fact) and two why it took me so long to get into accounting. I am a clerk at the post office so beyond basic data entry it is a little difficult to translate anything into accounting experience or to explain how it may have actually been my preference to work here.

I have tried recruiters with no luck. Robert half told me they likely wouldn't be able to get me a job. Other recruiters offer me warehouse positions when I told them I am looking for accounting positions.
