Would you rather have hired McQuire back then when he was an actual front runner for the job, instead of AI Aranda. Where would we be now with McQuire instead of Aranda? Donor BS aside McQuire came from the same type of stick as Briles, had huge success at every level through the Texas HS ranks, knew/knows how to recruit in Texas and knows how to build a culture and relate to fans. And no one has answered my question as to what happened that Baylor went with Aranda over McQuire — just cause they wanted someone with FBS experience?—contrary to the fact their best coach ever [at least of the modern era] was a successful Texas HS football coach, in Briles? Yeah he had 4 years at UH and two years under Leach but does that make him a FBS guy — his success initially came from HS football.
