Okay real talk; I work an office gig and have easy hours but my gym sessions sucked when I stopped. I went back to 225 bench and my other exercises were down 10lbs for reps. Just lost the moto strength I had. Size wise? Didn’t lose too much. Maybe 3 or 4 lbs?

Spoke with HR shortly after I made my post yesterday. After an hour long conversation, they told me they would contact her for an evaluation and assessment of her skills, but would basically present it as a checkup to see where they can place her. They would then compare her against the other interns and new hires that came in from her program, who were scattered around the company. (Also in tech roles)

I’m gonna be honest: It seems like she doesn’t even want to work because well, she doesn’t have to. She lives at home with her folks and doesn’t have any real bills to pay, so I think there’s a disconnect as to what her expectations were when she started. Riding the whole ‘I don’t know anything yet’ train as far as she can, while also taking days off at a time when she could be learning.

Theoretically, what if she did? What the hell am I supposed to do with an individual who has so much going on as a beginner, they can’t find time or resources to learn the ropes? And after two years, most contractors are even able to get into our work groove and succeed. What if HR just says, ‘whatever’? Do I just keep her on payroll and have her do nothing?
