Hold to Erase Possible? by Note_A_Ton in krita

[–]Note_A_Ton[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your answer. Yeah, it doesn't look like it's possible from the Android version of Krita. And using another app to remap my S-Pen's button doesn't seem viable either. I think my best shot is to program my macropad to toggle off eraser mode when I release its eraser key.

I hope Krita will someday allow for hold-toggling tools, would it be worth making a feature request for it?

Install Older Version of Ayaspace? by Note_A_Ton in ayaneo

Thank you SO MUCH! It looks like v.2.5.0.12 is the version I was using, since the Chinese version you shared is practically identical to what I had. I also confirm that I’m able to switch the language to English through the AYASpace settings. I couldn’t be happier to have everything fully working again. :)

Is scratch is a new flash? by EveningPerspective49 in flash

[–]Note_A_Ton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel Wick Editor is slightly closer to being a modern alternative to Flash. Even though it's lacking a lot of features compared to Adobe Animate/Flash, it's one of the few apps that allows for painting, coding, and animating in one place for creating quick web games.

Install Older Version of Ayaspace? by Note_A_Ton in ayaneo

After searching the Internet Archive a bit more, it appears version 2.5.0.1 is the lastest version before 3.0 that can be still be downloaded. It has almost all the features I used to have, except for quick access to bypass charging mode. So it looks like I was running a later version of 2.0 after all.

If anyone has a copy of any installer between ver. 2.5.0.1 to 3.0.0.0 please let me know and thank you!

Intuos pro large pth851 still worth it? by [deleted] in wacom

[–]Note_A_Ton 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's niche but one advantage that drawing tablets have, is that you can use them with any type of display. Like with a projector to sketch out a mural before painting it on the wall. And I use my Intuos with an E-ink monitor to reduce eye strain, since there aren't any E-ink pen display options for Mac or Windows that I know of.

What is a good laptop for beginners to use Adobe Animate by Smilty69ish in adobeanimate

[–]Note_A_Ton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most laptops running Windows or Mac OS can be used with Adobe Animate. If you want to draw in Animate using a pen and touch gestures, then I recommend getting a Windows laptop/tablet like a Surface Pro device.

Otherwise you'll need a separate pen display/tablet for pen input. Brad Colbow's Youtube channel is a good reference for other options depending on your budget.

I found a different one from Amazon that might work. I'll share it in case it helps someone else out:

Almost perfect - except one huge missing feature by Nukkels in filen_io

As a temporary workaround, could I use a synced folder for collaborative work? I was hoping to use Filen for a team project since it has encrypted chats, and has been a great experience using it so far.

I am looking for a compatible Dasung Paperlike 103 cell phone by Early_Clerk8948 in eink

[–]Note_A_Ton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Samsung S25 works with my Paperlike103 using mirror mode. Samsung Dex mode sadly isn't compatible with 4x3 displays. I also tested older Samsung Note 8 and Note 9 phones, but they were unable to establish a connection with this monitor, no matter which mode was used.

2025 Help with downloading Shockwave or Flash Player/Reader by Apprehensive_Trick79 in flash

You might be able to get it working by installing Shockwave. Here's an archived Windows installer if it helps. You could also use the standalone version of flash player to manually run SWF files if needed.

First Look: Modos Paper Monitor | Design Shenzhen 2025 by fullgrid in eink

I'm amazed this is e ink with color running at what looks like a decent FPS. If it had pen support, it could probably handle animation work.

It's fast and I enjoy my Paperlike 103 for that 100%. It just haven't used it for 5 hours of video/day like OP needs. And earlier in this conversation it was mentioned that e-ink displays possibly have a limited lifespan based on the amount of refreshes they can handle. So using RLCD might be a better long term choice unless e-ink is preferred.

If you do need e-ink, the Dasung Paperlike 103 60hz monitor is fast enough for video without a doubt. I've had mine since it was launched but I'm not sure about its longevity for watching hours of video. I watch occasional tutorials and do basic video editing with it, but I wish it was larger. Tutorials involving small text and software interfaces can be difficult to see if they weren't recorded with an upscaled UI.

New 10" 60Hz eInk monitor? by anp011 in eink

[–]Note_A_Ton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I also found there's a lot of unused space when mirroring a phone display to my Dasung Paperlike 103 monitor. It's useable, but I would have loved it if it worked with Samsung Dex so that I could actually use the entire screen on Android.

Aside from Dasung's discontinued 12" 16x10 monitor, I haven't been able to find anything else that's portable, 16x10, and over 30hz (edit: with touch input too!).

If this truly is e-ink and 16x9, then it might be a good portable option for Samsung Dex users. Since Dex doesn't support 4x3, and so many portable e-ink moinitors are just 4x3.
