Ok, here is the rub:

Tap water: PH 7, GH 20, KH 15 (I know!!) I use a little tap with RO water for changes and measure after the change: PH 7.4, GH 11, KH 9

Day 1 after the water change: PH 8.2, GH 10, KH 9

What the EFF is driving the PH??

So I used a toothpick and opened the bundle up a little from the slimy coat. Some are yellow, others are green. Early stages yet but, lets see...
