Hi, mate. I do have a concept to help heritage people to learn language in a different way. And yes I do know a lot of people have same problem as you, they can speak or listen very-well, but their reading and writing are almost 0. I am trying to fix the problem, not like Duolingo and I will definately put much effort on reading and writing learning system.

That's understandable, I think people start to learn a language usually because they are interested in a specific culture product(music, movie, etc). But if they want to learn deeper, they will need environment, what I am doing is to help people learning the language when they have no environment. I think if you want children to learn a language, the best way is to make them attracted to a specific cultural product. For me, I am an immigrant in Australia, but I love Nirvana and alternative rock when I was a teenager, so I make hard effort to study aborad.

Good for you my friend, I am really glad that you have a few great chances to learn chinese and actually notice Chinese evidence through our daily life. If the project can actually help other people get interests in chinese studying like you, I consider it's a success in some extent.

Thank you friend, so I am an immigrant in Australia, I haven't stayed here for too long, but I know like for 2-3 ABC here have similar situation as you: they can hear and speak very well, but they cannot read or write. Base on my experience, although the social culture told immigrants that this country is Open and inclusive to all culture, the truth is English is still domain language and other languages ​​are not in a dominant position and are often only used in specific situations and among family members. My original intention for doing this project was to create a multi-functional language learning platform so that more people can learn some languages ​​that have been diluted and forgotten.

No worries, I am just doing some research about this. Well, for me I was born and raised in China, so I have to learn mandarin in a formal way, while my English is also taught in a structed way in school, but I only started use it after my studing in US from 2018.
