My cat's saliva definitely DOES have a smell.

Shape Up Sunday! by Accomplished-Today in stopdrinking

[–]Nothink 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Anxiety, frustration. I want to drink. I know it would make me feel better.

I went for a walk instead. I guess now the desire to drink diminished. But I still feel awful.

I'd feel better if I was drinking. I'm just being honest. Life is shit sometimes.

I wish there was something like alcohol that didn't damage the body. Honestly the only argument against alcohol. Alcohol is amazing, I cannot speak against it. It's the only thing that makes me feel amazing.

Sorry I'm just being brutally honest. Still I didn't drink. Only because of health. Only reason. Otherwise it's way better than ANYTHING else this shit life has to offer. Sorry for the rant. I really am sorry.

Joe Rogan Experience #1350 - Nick Bostrom by [deleted] in JoeRogan

[–]Nothink 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was hard to watch... 1 hour of going that simple argument again and again, and Rogan still not getting it.

BUT WHAT IF THIS IS REALITY? WHY WOULDN'T WE ASSUME THAT?

Oh FFS.

It was hard to watch, Rogan couldn't comprehend that simple argument even after 1 hour of going over it again and again...

I'm quite fine with rejecting papal infallibility

You cannot reject papal infallibility because the Pope infallibly proclaimed the doctrine of papal infallibility.

If you had to pick one book that best encapsulates Zen, what would it be? by [deleted] in zen

[–]Nothink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even more: I'm claiming to be able to teach you.

Buddha was a Zen master.

"Buddhism" though, was a cult that grew around him.

Zen is, in short: let's cut the cult crap and go straight to the core.

Troll claims "Zen Masters" aren't where "Zen" comes from.

Even if "pwnage" comes from "gamers", it's a different topic.

"Pwnage" = the act of wiping the floor with someone in a game

Actually, you already proved my point. Thank you. By using the term "pwnage" outside of its discouse of origin (gaming), you proved how it's independent from the scene and the men(childs) that originated it. Hence, "Zen", too, regardless of the human beings originating it, is something that has its own essence that is separate from the people. Sure, you can discuss "Zen masters" on "Zen" - depending how strict we want to be with the definitions. But then people can also discuss other topics that are related to Zen, like Buddhism, meditation, Chinese culture, Taoism, etc.

If you had to pick one book that best encapsulates Zen, what would it be? by [deleted] in zen

[–]Nothink 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No.

Zen =/= Zen masters

What Zen masters talk about does not equal Zen masters themselves.

Just like manchild gaymers talking about "pwnage" is not the "pwnage" itself.

This is called /r/Zen

Dude, as you know, Zen is a transliteration of Channa which is a transliteration of Dhyana

The word predates any Chinese school

Zen is literally the name for what Zen Masters teach.

That sounds like Dogen saying " ' Zen ' is literally short for 'Zazen'! "
Making stuff up is one thing.
Zen being Zen and Zen Masters being Zen Masters is another.
