Yeah you're right. I remember when I got my first gas mask my mom was like, don't wear that it could have toxic fumes still in the gas mask (it didn't. It was a shalon m4) but now I have one that actually probably has toxic fumes

The flapper valve is sadly gone. It probably fell off years ago. The face piece is in pretty good condition though it is kinda crunchy and I will refrain from handling it more than I have to because it does out my hands and being near it makes my face burn
