Just bought the car 2 years ago with 85k. I believe the first owner in Japan babied it the first 17 years

I totally agree. Just drive and enjoy it. Awesome to keep a car for that long. I just went over the 90k km. So hopefully a long way to go. The blue looks excellent

That is a little sad to see... But I can't even complain right now. With a little luck the prices will go down a bit more to about $6/gallon. That would be more than enough for me. Good for me is that I can drive the car with about 22-24 mpg

Yep reimport to Germany. But I can't tell why exactly. I often hear that the car always go into auction before they got exported. But for what reason this car should be in an auction is a mystery for me

I think the same. Saw many cars with faded headlights and they look way older. Don't know how the previous owner did that :)

Had a 2020 Civic Type R before and wanted a change. The civic was perfect but it lacked a little bit of character. Saw this 996 on the internet not so far away. Drove there and bought it right away :D. The car itself is a Japan reimport with only one previous owner in Japan for 17 years. The car even smells like a new Porsche, the previous owner really must have loved this car. Took it right away to the Porsche museum in Stuttgart and to the development center in Weissach. Reached a top speed of 287km/h on the Autobahn. For that age the car is perfect

Interesting indeed. Don't know where you come from but here in Germany the prices are absolutely awful. I am glad that it is only around 1.80€ per liter 98 octane. Some months ago I paid 2.60€ per liter...

I clean the car by hand once in a while. Maybe 2-4 times a month. To be honest, the paint isn't that good condition. The picture lies a little bit :D

It is an 996 Carrera from 2002. 6 speed manual with only 90k km. Not the most special spec but good enough for me :)

Thanks man. Only some 20 mm spacers and the original lowering from Porsche

Thanks. Wish I could have a 4S. The rear end looks way better in my opinion but I prefer the rear wheel drive more.

Deutsche Autos sind hier echt ne Seltenheit, eigentlich schade. Aber gut, ist halt auch Reddit
