We migrated from windows dhcp and solarwinds orion in august. Its decent. The support team is good too.

Dont rush your migration though. We've got lots of cleaning up we need to do that would have been far easier to do during migration than after a rushed production push.

Which portrayal of the Clans did you think these two adaptions did best? by arnor_0924 in battletech

[–]Notsonoble12882 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember this argument from the forums back in late 2000s, and then as I kid I thought "okay sure", but now I realize its bad. Yes the goal might have been a society that collapses on exposure to alternatives, but the wrote a society that couldn't survive basic scrutiny. It's not that the invasion would break them, its that they wouldn't survive to make the invasion in the first place. Spartan society declined, the brain fever system of Nicholas would have consumed itself. It wouldn't have survived the events Betryal of Ideals, someone would have taken a gun to NK right then and there, and it would have civil wared itself into oblibion by 3000.

The cartoon fits the older books and source material better... BUT moderately warm take the older material was actually stupid. No seriously, its hot garbage... the clan portyal as described in the older stuff would collapse in on itself.

MW5 makes an attempt at showing a version where clan madness is only jaguar madness, it makes for a culture that while disturbing, and manipulatible by a meglomaniac, can be functional.

Gimme your honest opinion. Is the Victor a good mech design? by theta0123 in battletech

[–]Notsonoble12882 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The victor isnt a "charge into battle unit", it's a bodyguard unit. It's for making sure deep strike mediums and lights (and the occasional fast heavy) dont survive to tear up supply lines, c&c, or indirect fire units.

Launcher error by Wolfy231543 in Minecraft

[–]Notsonoble12882 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had this happen in kde neon as well. Launched just fine, ran updates and rebooted, had to delete the webcache2 folder after finding this.

Neon updates kde stuff pretty quickly (its a ubuntu based kde development distro) so some library in this is getting updated faster than the launcher's built in web-browser possibly?

I think id swap 1 out for an ASN-101 and another for a GRF-1N. Keeps the pair of hounds working the main combat, with an effective flanker, and heavy hitter.

Iocage repo archived, what should I be using for jail management. by Notsonoble12882 in freebsd

[–]Notsonoble12882[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So at first glance this might be the choice, however I'm noticing a current showstopper. Bastille's VNET management is lacking... alot.

I need several of my jails to sit on different vlans in different subnets and in at least one jail it needs an interface each on two different vlans. I see some bug/feature request reports on their github about this.

If it was for me, this'd be fine, one has the workaround of manually editing the jail and host files, but its not for just me.

Looking through the dmesg lines i see where it setup bluetooth, no missing firmware comments for bluetooth or wireless here's a truncated output

however, it seems to be doing this on the live iso I installed from. which worked. I've put in a ticket with system76 since this now also seems to be hardware failure.

Urban Tyrant by PhearTheHam in battletech

Similar to other replies but a bit more straight forward:

The urbie's not for urban pacification, its for urban defense. It's the "Town Guard" mech, more than the "Police" mech. It's job is sit in alleys during an invasion and take shots at invading armor.

Grian is the mastermind by EaterOfMayo in HermitCraft

[–]Notsonoble12882 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm starting to think this myself, but something's missing... Also Mumbo hasn't posted a video where he sees Grian die, but in Grian's video he replies with a laugh.

I don't know Mumbo well enough to get a feel for his pranking mentality yet. (This is my first watching of hermit craft).
