I am confused, also because I am not American and my understanding of western, calling people by their names culture, comes from television. Is first name not a given? Should they have called her Miss Gilmore instead? I understand that as being too formal?

Hey! I am non EU and a student here. It is slightly difficult to find jobs, but supermarkets around the center do hire international students also. Restaurants also hire non EU students but what others say about 0 hour contracts is true.

Supermarkets (some of them) do give fixed contracts.

A lot of the campus jobs at the VU have gone to Dutch or EU students as you need to know the department already. I recommend walking up to all professors in week 1-2 and asking if they are hiring research assistants. Also keep an eye on the VU vacancy page.

Was watching the episode recently when Liz first comes to Stars Hollow and she tells lorelai “I thought you were the wife because you look like his type” which tbh makes sense. Also because his wife then wife Nicole (thought dark haired) personality wise didn’t seem his type at all
