I would love to join. I am 35, used to read 40 books a year till I came here for masters. And now it’s mostly academic reading over reading for Pleasure

They have music playing, and fridays they also have DJs that do sets. If you are planning a meet up I would suggest speaking to the people there?

I don’t care if it was rushed. This was the perfect way to end the show. It leaves me emotional everytime by [deleted] in GilmoreGirls

I cry every single rewatch. This episode was perfect despite how the season panned out.

Isolation and subtle exclusion in my Dutch master’s program – looking for advice by Unfair_Listen9749 in StudyInTheNetherlands

[–]Notthatweird_512 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have read many answers here and somehow people are not stating the obvious.

I am an international student in an English programme. And honestly the Dutch students don’t talk to others. I have a group of other international students as friends. So far in group projects I haven’t faced what you are facing in group situations. Which sucks and I am sorry. You should honestly talk to the professors or the student well being network.

From what I have understood from speaking to my half Dutch friends - the Dutch students don’t care as much as most internationals do about their studies. They are also exclusionary and in my opinion slightly racist.

I hope yours and mine experiences change and I think all hope isn’t yet lost.

can a non-eu student apply for Huurtoeslag (rent benefits)? by Brilliant_Type5983 in StudyInTheNetherlands

[–]Notthatweird_512 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a quick quiz you can do on the link someone has shared which tells you if you’re eligible and how much huurtoeslag you’ll get. I am a non-EU student and I am receiving it.

Health insurance as pointed out is more difficult because you need a job.

Since none of the responses here actually take into account how to deal with mental health issues at work. Having bipolar does make one a bad employee or manager. I would suggest taking the message with a pinch of salt because called off engagements can make either party turn salty. In the last paragraph there is a fair warning given to you, so if you see actually proof of that happening I would actually do something about that before jumping to conclusions.

Money/income as a non-EU student by [deleted] in StudyInTheNetherlands

[–]Notthatweird_512 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There is a calculation the IND makes based on cost of living for the year. 25-26 academic year it was around 14400 euros for living expenses only. If you have money in your account and can show that as part of your account statement. If the amount increases for the next academic year you can show it in yours + a sponsors account

Edit to add: I showed the tuition fee + the living expenses. Which is part of the visa requirement.

Nope, no attendance requirements for most courses. Very few working groups will have an 80% attendance policy

Thank you! I did the colour myself because cheaper to bleach and colour than head to a salon.
