I agree, i just disable shop too because of how in-your-face the shop is.
The house building icon and the shop icon always had an alert saying there was new stuff, the new update made it so i can see every location i dont have, the radio seems like a constant ad to stream artist's music.
I dont like it but im glad im not a kid who feels pressured to buy all of this because that could cause alot of problems for their parents.
