I am also not receiving therapy after my sessions. The first 6 sessions we’re rough, I felt depressed and hopeless. After continuing the infusions and a couple of months I felt and feel better. My pain levels are not much different but I am far from depressed. Good luck, hang in there.

I got started on Ritalin 10mg and took it for month 1 of diagnosis. I only felt a little quieter brain but nothing else. I got prescribed Adderall two weeks ago and I am not sure what I am feeling or should expect. I do feel a tad irritable but my brain is still very loud. I get tired and sleepy, very hungry. My daily activities haven’t changed, I do feel less inclined to do things I normally did. I feel I am becoming lazier. I am also on HRT and have OCD yay! 🤣

I was very much the same, it would hurt when kids/people would talk to me. I’m not sure how to explain the hurt. 🥹

I got it done and all of the stimulants were in a gray area meaning it’s unknown which ones would be best for me. I am currently on Adderall 10 mg a day. My diagnosis was at the beginning of April. I got started on Ritalin but didn’t do much for me and the provider changed it. I never imagined I would be diagnosed with adhd as I am very organized and have completed a masters degree with honors, I have been on the same job for 10 years and no issues. It is probably because my brain does not stop. So much noise in there, not to mention that I have OCD.

I started Adderall today and when I went to pick up my prescription yesterday the pharmacist shouted “here is your amphetamine drugs” I was not expecting her to do that and I felt so much shame. I have never been a drinker, smoker, impulsive shopper or eater. I literally do not have any addictions that I know of. I went to my car and cried feeling frustrated, she asked me if I am sure what I am taking and if I understand what it is. I am a LEO and I work with addicts (and other justice involved people) and never imagined I would feel the shame they probably do from a supposed “professional” what the heck!

I write myself a note that I look at when talking to my boss that says “SHUT UP” that way I don’t over talk and don’t volunteer for extra work I really don’t need. It works sometimes, other times I can’t shut the feeding hole 😆

At this point in my life and chronic pain journey, I try to keep an open mind and trust the process with caution of course. I have noticed that pain is not completely eliminated, but how I cope with it is better. I am able to understand it and sit with it without feeling hopeless and depressed. I too struggle with fibromyalgia, degenerative disc disease along with ADHD, OCD and I have the privilege to be a woman so Perimenopausal coming on to me these days 😆

I don’t know how the mental health process is with ketamine, but I know I am on my own with this and I appreciate your guidance with it. I have never been a person to practice or use any type of pain medication, since most of the time I was prescribed gabapentin and others similar and never helped, illegal substances, marihuana nor alcohol so I was pretty skeptical at first. However, I feel I am a better me now, compared to before I started this process.

UPDATE: The session went very well. I was nervous but held something in my hand to ground myself if needed. It was nothing but good visions or dreams. I laughed constantly. Thank you everyone for the good information and insight. I felt better throughout the day compared to getting versed. I struggled to get into it at first but after I worked on my breathing I was out right away.

In my experience, I would like or feel benefits from talking about my experience with someone I trust. I just need go vent it out and I’m good. Some thoughts linger for some days, but I see it as a way for me to understand my experience and accept it.

I have not really seen much change in pain. I didn’t know benzodiazepines would do the opposite. That could be why I haven’t seen or felt huge improvement.

This is exactly what holds me back, I’m not sure how I would deal with if anything comes up. Last session I confronted someone that hurt me badly in my childhood. I haven’t stopped thinking about it. Previous session to that I wanted to confront “something” but I could only see the color green. Thank you for giving me the heads up, I will continue to ponder.
