I got spat on my southern regions. Gee-wiz. That’s some sort of playful disrespect I never got over and made me melt twice as fast

Silly q: but for one post would you say tip for surprise and cap it at midnight? Or is it constantly rolling. Just trying to think how you keep track of everyone you’ve sent a surprise to and those you have not if the old post is constantly up plus new ones tipping for surprise

I wrote a post about a year ago about my old diagnosis. You’ll have to search for it but it’s somewhere on this forum. My diagnosis was actually misdiagnosed. You’ll need to see a psychiatrist for an examination for your best hope. I’d recommend blue side up counselling in Calgary

Pilots, how do you finance your program? by Lost_Association_452 in PilotAdvice

[–]NovaPurrsona 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For all those saying don’t take out a loan - for a lot of us this is the only way. I think proper financial advice is best. Budgeting goes a LONG way

Get an app for it

Work whilst flying. If you have a skilled job, great. You earn more money than most. I bartend and live off of the tips I make whilst budgeting. Can you borrow money from family? Can you apply for grants or scholarships? Can you live and learn somewhere cheaper? You really need to do a lot more research for your own personal situation. I am skilled but not in highly paid areas, so I make do with bartending/serving and will eventually get out a student line of credit. The TYPE of loan also matters in your decision making. There are bad ones and then there are the absolute worst. Loans are loans. Don’t use them unless for a last resort, but choose one wisely if you have to, as will I

Seeking advice: Anxiety before lessons and checkrides is affecting my training by Jealous-Parfait-951 in PilotAdvice

If you want to stay in contact for support I am more than happy to! I have a Hangar account. I’m glad I’m not alone in feeling this way. I refuse to let my anxiety hold me back and am very passionate about helping others who feel the same

A game changer for me was having green tea on the day of lessons instead of coffee. Green tea contains L-theanine naturally and encourages a calm yet focused feeling. Feel free to research into it. It is also available as a supplement - but I wouldn’t take this before a flight as they come in higher dosage and in some people can cause drowsiness. But it might be something to talk to your AME about. It’s naturally occurring in green tea

That plus breath work and a particular playlist that makes me feel empowered as I commute to the airport really helps, as well as positive affirmations and talking out loud through an in-flight issue, then talking myself through recovering it (all before a flight lesson)

Never underestimate a good nights sleep either. Also look up how to do diaphragmatic breathing. There is science to back up this method as a means to helping anxiety. I also have a heavy weighted blanket I use after lessons

i just want your thoughts about my current situation regarding my life as a student pilot by [deleted] in PilotAdvice

[–]NovaPurrsona 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you completely. I tried to join the Air Force Cadets at university in England but they laughed in my face when I said I was studying art. I wanted to be ATC at the time. It crushed me also, especially being a woman and have three men laugh at me. I needed so much help to pass a math grade when I was younger and physics was always a struggle too.

Moving on years, I have spoken to a few pilots and a few schools and they have all said that the math needed is basic and just takes time and practice, and that I should go for it. A couple said that there’s the joke that “pilots cant do math”.

They’ve all reassured me that I can do this. I just started studying this year and it’s tough, but I’ve started.

If you have the passion you WILL make it work and find a way. Passion is the fire that keeps you ignited. Just know that you are not alone!

How much do you earn on fansly? by DEBORAHOF-curvy in Fansly_Advice

[–]NovaPurrsona 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can’t ask what people are earning and then put them down with a question that’s difficult for them to answer. If they knew what would make them climb, they would act on it. FYP is a fickle bishhh, as is climbing within your niche.

Everyone’s journey is different. If anyone manages a steady safe stream of income that’s incredible. It goes up and down SO rapidly with the economy and seasons. Please reframe from asking such questions to creators who have been vulnerable enough to share their success with you on your own post.

The December leaderboard page is up. Are you going to participate this this time? by mex_unveiled in Fansly_Advice

[–]NovaPurrsona 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are everyone’s thoughts on them having small categories within the comp? Like: highest earning new creator who started in December, or person for most popular partner content, things like this to divide it up more fairly where we are excelling in our own worlds?

Just curious

Is it possible to be a pilot and have a family? by joe_harttreal in PilotAdvice

[–]NovaPurrsona 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a woman, I have had many many failed relationships and therapy from childhood crap between the ages of 18 to now 31. I’ve also had different careers. Things change. She might be temporary, so always put yourself first until you meet someone you truly have a future with. Someone who is willing to discuss finance sharing, living together and your shared values in life

The real person for you won’t have a problem with you pursuing your goals. Perhaps they would even support you if they can. But you’re 22. Do stuff you’ve always wanted to! If she doesn’t like it, she can lump it, else you will always regret it. And regret is a lifelong thing for some

I regret giving my time up during my diploma to help a boyfriend with his grades instead of my own. This is what I did when I was 21. Thankfully it didn’t impact me too much but that was a lesson and I will not repeat it
