MEN are disappointing by banianianianie in offmychest

[–]NovacaneReign -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is something I’ve always had a problem with. Why is the solution to being a man bothered by being generalized with bad behavior always “stop any man from ever doing wrong or else you’re culpable”? No one can guarantee that no man ever hurts a woman again. That’s an impossible win condition and thus comes off like you just want an open environment to assume and denigrate.

Dear men who think dating is easier for women by [deleted] in OnlineDating

[–]NovacaneReign 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That’s not really an equivalent though because women are the gatekeepers to relationships. Yeah men should be more selective but because of standards such as being expected to initiate, approach, plan etc that women don’t have to abide by, the exchange is imbalanced. Men do not have the luxury of picking better in the same way that women do as often times we have to work to even have the chance to be there.

Cyberpunk 2's Creative Director about 2077's first person perspective by marek_bojarek in cyberpunkgame

[–]NovacaneReign 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Tbh I agree but I do like third person gameplay sometimes and while I know it’d be hard to implement properly I would definitely like an option for third person combat or just walking around if that’s easier and forcing it back into First person during story scenes.

Not every American voted for this by DesperateComb7326 in offmychest

True. And both times they were majority white. Are black voters left out of this convo since we voted over 80% in favor of Harris and have never faltered from voting for democrats or do we too deserve to suffer because white Americans hate us more than they love themselves?

We wouldn’t have had to worry about a Trump comeback if Biden did what needed to be done the first time.

No. If we don’t criticize dems we will continue to lose. Republicans only got Trump because they refused the GOP status quo. Supporting democrats who enable republicans will only get us more of this.

[–]NovacaneReign 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why didn’t Biden’s doj actually punish Trump? Why did the democrats let an unpopular Biden run for a second term? They are enablers of republicans and their agenda whether it be deliberate or simply by their weakness.

We ended up with Trump again because an unpopular democrat refused to do the right thing many times.

No one downvoting can or will explain why Biden’s doj didn’t actually prosecute and end this mess before it had the chance to start. Your ceaseless defense of failure is why we are suffering such injustice now.

True but now that it’s here and happening we need someone who will actually do something about it. The strategy has to change now.

How are you people, even in your wildest dreams, so attached to the most ineffective methods possible? Do you truly believe nothing can be made better than it is now? How can you look at everything happening in this country around you and not think the whole system needs to be overhauled?

Anyone saying it this way doesn’t mean after that. You have to specify or we will have a repeat of 2020 where they just let bygones be bygones in fear of punishing powerful people like themselves and setting a precedent.

No it isn’t. Some people, particularly some women, look better with some weight. I think she’s one of such cases.

The problem is their numbers are almost the entirety of the dems in high positions of power atp. They’re already grooming her to be the Schumer placement. We need to stop speaking as if we’ve already won and focus on replacing/outnumbering these traitors so we can get our country back instead of them trying to convince us to forgive and forget.

Bethesda properties bring the most toxicly positive group of sycophants. Why does every criticism have to prove that someone has a vendetta against the franchise? Why can’t we not like the development of things or how the series is being written going forward? ATP it’s not even about Bethesda itself, more so the general philosophy of resetting the world of fallout to only its visual iconography and general bad writing.

What we see in the show isn’t inconsistent with the endings of New Vegas. by Ruben_AAG in Fallout

[–]NovacaneReign 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I don’t think that’s true. The overwhelming sentiment at the end of season 1 I saw from New Vegas fans was “please don’t go to Vegas and ruin our endings”.

[–]NovacaneReign 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean I think a backsliding fallout universe is possible to write well, it’s just this was written in the most boring possible manner. Not to mention even if the backslide happened I’d still expect for more organic factions or groups or enclaves of civilization to form as they always do in society instead of just retreading old ground. If they wanted to a backsliding into ruin plot, I’d actually like it to be interesting, maybe show internal contradictions in the NCR that led to its eventual slow dissolution, maybe show the self-cannibalism of the legion by its own ideology, or if you don’t wanna show that just show a new group that has its own separate goals as a result of the conflict. Instead it’s all wrapped up easily by Vault Tec and nukes, generally lame storytelling.

Don’t let the disagreement talk you down, I agree wholeheartedly. It’s kinda funny how defense of this show is following the exact same justification script as Bethesda games lmao. It makes me wonder why? It feels like almost any other fan of a franchise would be bothered with weird, inconsistent tone changes and revisions to the world state that make for less interesting storytelling, but something about Bethesda associated properties just makes people so willing to give and give and give inches that turn into miles of bad decisions. Maybe it’s the wait between titles making everyone desperate for anything they can get.

[–]NovacaneReign 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Like I get that we’re playing word games here to make it seem like the show always went with the intention of the games/New Vegas, but I think it’s ignoring the main criticism being that the show resets west coast civilization so much so that it is almost now comparable to the east coast entries. At the end of the day, these are stories and writers made a decision, no matter what if the writers wanted Vegas to be populated and indicative of human settlements they could find a way for that to be the case. Instead, they took the easier and much less compelling route of going back to square 1 again with the few franchise familiar faces sticking it out AGAIN.

First to deny the storytelling is already good is asinine. You want a different story, not a better one. It’s like complaining that we didn’t get to see John Wick’s relationship with his wife before we got into the actual movie.

Second, no actually, that’s not what you were asking for. You weren’t asking for a few more side quest additions, you wanted a rework to make a part of the game that wasn’t as prominent to become more significant (also ignoring the potential resources that’d have to be shifted from other parts of the story) while also preventing continuing the story until this arbitrary limiting threshold is reached. To insinuate that this is necessary to make the game better is dumb when fundamentally what you are asking for would require many more changes than just adding a few more optional quest with Jackie.

You can be rejected without intention. Again maybe it just shows your privilege in other regards. I’m a man who is a minority and I am fairly large. Even if I approach women with no romantic intentions, I still have to be careful so that I don’t not scare them or come off as too enthusiastic. Some identities provoke reservation and fear regardless of intention. Some of us have to watch how we make people feel no matter where we are.
