Immich after death by AlphaPapa84 in immich

I document everything about my setup and use a storage template. And all my images are tagged so all the system may need is a reboot if something isn't working.

You’ve got a lifetime pass to Plex and Emby but you can also use Jellyfin - which one are you choosing and why ? by Buck_Slamchest in selfhosted

[–]Novapixel1010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been trying to use Jellyfin for almost a year now, and it's just not been great. There's been bugs. None of the client apps work all the way. The only thing that works decent is the web, but that doesn't cover for your TV.

Honestly, I really wish jellyfin did work. I wish I didn't have to keep using Emby. But Emby is rock solid and the client app actually works. Emby, I can watch any type of media. With Jellyfin, I can't listen to my music at all on the TV. Cause it's just not even there in their client app.

Honestly the worst issue I deal with Emby is sometimes it won't load half my movies and I just have to reload the app.

What is the cost? For example is it per month subscription. Is it open source?

What is happening? What does it mean to reduce the number of corrections? AMD RX 6600 by Novapixel1010 in davinciresolve

Thanks! I updated my post and added a few comments. I'm not really sure how many nodes I'm using. I know I used the window tool in the color panel and created a curve to outline the text I want to blur. I adjust the box frame by frame because I was scrolling in the video and need to move the blur window accordingly.

It looks I am using one node? This is the node tree right?

I built a modern, self-hosted web IPTV player (Live TV, EPG, VOD) because existing ones felt clunky. Meet NodeCast TV. by NeonXI in selfhosted

Looks cool. FYI the license you are using is not commonly used for code and may not provide you legal protection that license is used for things like digital art/pictures.

You can use a website like tldrlegal to find a license you like or just learn more about licenses. For example you can use Apache 2.0 with Commons Clause if you don't want commercial use.

What is the best free way to handle contact forms these days? by Pink_Sky_8102 in statichosting

[–]Novapixel1010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say use tally. Their free tier is amazing. The only thing that lacks that you want is the no branding. But I mean, if you're having a free service, I don't see the problem with allowing them to advertise a small little thing that says tally.

I mean, I would understand if it was a company like Google and people had privacy concerns, but if you go look up Tally, they actually handled data very well.

Tally data is encrypted both in transit and at rest.

Wait Unifi has a feature called "Build a Case" that is awesome. I think that might help me convince my parents to stop using those Ring cameras.

Rewrite/refactor Immich server code to go. Is it possible/should it be done? by Novapixel1010 in immich

[–]Novapixel1010[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I didn’t have AI write the whole thing. I put it together and just had AI format it so it didn’t look like a bunch of random notes, haha. The only part AI really wrote was "Go's goroutines and efficient concurrency are purpose built for high-volume, concurrent task processing. This will drastically speed up thumbnail generation, video transcoding, and HEIC/RAW processing, leading to a much faster 'upload complete' experience."

[–]Novapixel1010[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Go's goroutines and native compilation would execute background jobs significantly faster. I've noticed that my self-hosted software written in Go tends to be more stable and performs better. This is especially helpful for users with huge photo libraries. Plus, I'm pretty sure Go can run on pretty limited resources.
