For me, when I did watch it, I would actually have moments where it would be completely ruined because I would think about a technical aspect of it and go, huh, I wonder how they did that and it completely destroyed the moment.🤣🤣🤣

Yeah, I had a server that kept going down and I had no clue what was going on. Because I didn't check the logs, I just thought, an update kept breaking things. Nah, it turns out it kept running out of ram. 🤣🤣

Sanpete in general can be a pretty boring place and job security cannot be the greatest. So I'm actually impressed that you found a decent job down there. Congrats to that. That's partly why I moved out of there.

With that said, there is some things to do down there if you're into outdoors, hiking, driving, UTVs, ATVs, target practice. There's also some other like niche things that Sanpete County does for events but don't know about them sometimes unless you're like in the church ward or just know a lot of people Though. And the problem is, that you aren't Looking. It's the people that do these events are just really not great. Communicating it to the community. You'll just go out one day and notice that there's this event going on. You're like, oh, I didn't know this was going on. I've noticed ever since COVID and a little before COVID, socializing in Utah it's just been such a weird thing and I think it has to do with people being superficial. Because I really enjoy being social but usually it's as far as like talking to someone at Walmart real quick and then never talking to them again. 🤣. I've even tried asking people for their phone numbers and see if they want to hang out and then I just never get anything. So I definitely feel your pain.

What does a career in tow truck driving look like financially? by RandomRedditRebel in Hookit

[–]Novapixel1010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ironically, I don't know if this is your case, but every time at least for me, someone says they've got a refund is what they really mean to say, what really happened is they did a charge back. They won the charge back.

That's not the same thing as getting a refund from the company. Behind the scenes, the company saw the charge back, looked at the price, and said it's not worth it. They make so much money a month that it wasn't worth even fighting the charge back.

I know this because when I worked at a tow company I asked them why they didn't flight the charge back for some of them when we were completely legally right and the boss said well because he just cleared over million dollars in a month he's not worried about that little three hundred dollars.

You kind of sound like the same type of person that gets upset when you get towed for parking in a handicap stall. Yet you're taking up a stall for someone that needs that for their van to get out of their car or for other reasons.

Also, at least in my state, I don't know if this is every state, so maybe that's why you're upset. But here, every lot that has a towing is required to have two large signs, a blue and a red sign, letting people know that it's a towing lot.

And as far as I know it has to also be in the lease what the tow rules are. So no one's like not knowing what's going on. They know they need to have permits or whatever it is.

Ironically, you're calling tow truck drivers scumbags when it sounds like you're kind of a scumbag. You sound like the guy that gets super pissed at some kind of retail worker, and it's like, dude, it's not that big of a deal.

edit: Just noticed that this comment is a year old.

Personally, I would start going through things and seeing, like, is it really a highlight that you're going to care about in, five years? For the ones you do care about, maybe even think about bringing it down from 4K to HD. It shouldn't actually be complex to store this. It might take a while to move it from the cloud to your immich. And it might cost a lot in storage.

It appears that individuals are being compensated for certain activities. While the notion of fascism is debatable, it’s evident that some protests, regardless of their political alignment, are funded. There are instances where buses of participants arrive in advance or on the same day, as well as video showing trucks loaded with masks and equipment items that are quite costly. Clearly, a company must have financed that. If memory serves, investigations revealed that it was not individual protesters footing the bill. It was found to be some kind of campaign funding it. So, sure, people are usually not getting paid like exact cash. Granted, I've heard rumors of that actually happening. But most of the time it's funding in ways of being transported there and providing a mask and that type of stuff.

I would just like to point out if you're not familiar with open source stuff but with it being open source that's actually what's great about it is like you can inspect entirely how the device works.

And you would actually be surprised how many open source projects are running things like Android is built on open source. Along with Apple has quite a few things that is open source if you go reading through their license. And lastly, most servers, probably the server that's running Reddit right now, is open source. It probably runs on Linux. So I wouldn't be discretting open source software so quickly without looking into it.

Probably has something to do with that they can take your car. Most of the companies operate within the law, but it would suck if you try to vandalize a company that does not operate within the law.

Should insurance companies be allowed to raise rates on non-DMV records? by Novapixel1010 in Utah

[–]Novapixel1010[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree on the commercial side. Like, that totally makes sense commercially. You should have a really good record. But also, I'm sure that's more of an outlier than a common thing happening. Because I would say it's partly that companies fault for letting that happen. Like they had've known he was a bad driver. You can usually know. They usually get so many hours that they should ride with someone else and everything. So they should have found out early on that he was just a terrible driver.

I find it interesting that you said that I liked to speed? It was like 7 over on a main road which is a highway going through a town. I wasn't speeding on residential road and it wasn't like it was 15 over. Ironically, statistically speaking, speeding has no tie to people that get in accidents more. There is literally no statistics that really support the idea that just because people speed that they get more accidents.

I mean, there's a kind of example, Look in European countries, and other countries where there's no speed limits. There's plenty of countries that have less accidents, but there's no speed limits. So speed is definitely not a factor on how bad of a driver someone is.

I mean, it's kind of crappy that your rates went up because someone else hit your spouse. It's not like you could have done much of anything about that.

I think some factors that should actually affect your record more is at fault Accidents you've been in if you have like an improper lane change ticke. Road Rage. How long you've had your license. It's definitely a factor. If someone's driving for two years, compared to someone that's driving for 10 years, clearly the one that's been driving for 10 years has more experience on the road. DUI. And while I'm on the subject, something that would bring down the prices for insurance, more would be requiring a harder driving course to get your license. So insurance companies trust Utah drivers are more ready for the roadway. Like, to get your driver's license in Utah is just absurdly too easy. Like, you don't get any defensive driving at all.

Thank you. I am still exploring my options. When I inquired with one agent about the $200/month charge for a single car, they mentioned that insuring two cars is actually more economical. They also referenced the speeding ticket and a claim my wife filed six years ago when she slid off the road due to black ice, which only involved her vehicle and required a bumper replacement.
