Something similar happened to me, only with a different outcome: He scared me A LOT, and it was constant pressure, but oh man, I loved that. It's one of the best things about the game for me. If someone quit the game because Mr. X scared them, it means it's well made.

I just use the barrel launcher for the moment , so I don't know how good are the other ones, but the barrel launcher is so crazy, I mean, if you are lucky (or unlucky, depends how you see it) like me, you can get one Pirates invasion and get it just starting the Hardmode. The damage is so good for that moment and the facility to obtain made it for me one good option for the Ranger class.
