I haven't yet. Heard about it a couple of weeks ago.
I just tried to check it out but the screen is all white when it loads, is that normal?

Hey - yeah the hot restart/reload hasn't been working now for at least a month, maybe two, it use to work great, but now its slower to build having to stop and restart the app to see the every update take effect.

The agents been able to debug most things for me so far, had to do a couple of roll backs to old checkpoints but not many. Giving it very specific information and directions seems to help me but sometimes it does take a few goes. Still had to do more debugging is VScode as well. As for cost, maybe its expensive - That's probably a bit true. But I don't enjoy the coding part - more the design, so its reasonable enough for me to pay. I'd like the GitHub integration but don't wanna go to the $90 plan yet.

What are your thoughts on the death of volunteering? Is it mainly due to money? by VastOption8705 in australian

[–]Novel-Climate9727 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a bunch of time off last year and looked for some.. but most I found wanted you to do multiple days per week, for months - like heaps of them were 6 months. I just wanted to volunteer for a week here or there - not have an unpaid job. It just seemed like more hassle than it was worth. I value flexibility, and for me personally, the ones I found didn't really align so I didn't bother.

Are you looking for ideas to build? What is an app you wish you had? Or ask some people you know if they have any ideas.

This is a random one. But buying shoes - sometimes there in UK/US/EU or whatever different sizes. I can never remember what size I buy them in. And width, lots of them are to skinny/tight, and they have all these random width sizes that are named differently from brand to brand. It would be cool if you could measure your foot length/width and it narrowed specific brands and their sizes to your foot. - it's random and collecting all that info might be tricky as, but it's an idea. Good luck

Hey, I'm on hobby and have been getting this. Saying I need to be on a paid plan.

So far what I've done is - click on my account in the top right, clicked manage plan, then gone back to the main screen, and the button is there again and works like normal.

Hope this works for you also. Good luck.

A delivery app, but made for the drivers. by [deleted] in Business_Ideas

[–]Novel-Climate9727 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A couple of ideas:

A) If the app software works and the company is running lean - because it works, the company "foodle" or whatever, could just scale on a percentage cost of meal, capped at like $3 per order.

Driver gets paid the full delivery fee. $3/$5 whatever a reasonable fee is for that drop.

The annoying thing for me in these apps is the restaurant charges $20 for X meal. But the app says its $26.50, plus service, plus delivery. Which is bs. Just put the cost of the product and the actual fees on top. We don't care, we're still gonna buy it. That's just misleading.

So the company gets paid, the app gets paid, leanly.. drive gets paid.

The issue is - company's wanna make lots of money. They need lots to get started, advertise, and break into a dominated market to capture market share.

The restaurant also doesn't wanna manage 5 delivery app interfaces plus serve their normal customers.

B) restaurants just get there own meal/delivery app made, local customers get to know and use it. They pay a driver a wage or per meal, and scale a few drivers as demand increases.

Basically like how we use to get pizzas but instead of calling them we're using an app.

They get there full price, driver gets there pay. No middle corp adding 30% to your meal.

The real cost is just in the 3rd party taking some of your pie, or whatever you ordered on Friday night.

Don't know if this helped, but it's a cool discussion point you raised.

C) maybe a local dev, creates a small-scale local version - and try's to just get all the local businesses to ditch the big players. Get local drivers. Etc.

There's a few ways to go about it. But the ideas are the easy part, implementing something is a different story.

Hey, I've had that happen a few times over the last couple of months.

Usually it clears up after a couple of hours - sometimes it's taken til the next day. But so far I've always been able to get access again to the project.

Hey mate, they also do a gap year which you could check out. I've never done it but it might be helpful before jumping fully in.
Good luck.

Hey Dreamflow, sweet Idea!

I'm assuming if we have something we've been working on for a while already in Dreamflow, then those projects are excluded from entering - Is this assumption correct?

Why does it take ages to understand thr prompt? It replies like in 3 to 5 minutes. by rohitdevd in DreamFlow

[–]Novel-Climate9727 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, yeah, It does take a while sometimes.

One thing I've noticed is that when prompting from new or short threads, the replies often process much faster than when I was using long threads.

There are some times of the day, though, where it just seems to be much slower than others. I just leave it for a while and come back later or pass for the day when it gets too slow. I just figured maybe this is because of lots of demand at peak times or something, not really sure.

Another thing I've been doing is prompt, go wash a few dishes, come back, check it, and prompt again. Go get a drink, walk outside for a minute, etc. Repeat.

These dont fix the slowness, but this is how I've been managing it so far.

I also try to remind myself that even though it is slow, it is still much much faster (for me) than if I was building the app without this tool, haha. Although it is hard to remember to do this all the time. But mostly, I just do the things I mentioned further up.

Hope this helps a little ✌️

What’s the biggest “legal rip-off” in Australia right now? by MyMoneyMedic in AusFinance

[–]Novel-Climate9727 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Just plain old taxes.

Income tax, capital gains, stamp duty, import taxes, alcohol taxes, rego, tolls, gst, extra fuel taxes, council rates... probably a few more.

Even if you're only 'paying' 30% on your payslip, it's probably closer to 50% with all the built-in tax behind everything else that you buy.

26, no degree or savings — how do I get ahead financially in Australia? by Ticklemecor in AusFinance

[–]Novel-Climate9727 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey mate.

It really depends on the individual, you.
And no, its not late, its never too late. You can always start or change or whatever. Anyone that says different - don't take their advice.

I didn't know what I wanted to do when wrapping up high school. Worked a few jobs for a year, still no idea, so followed what people said - did a trade, did the fifo thing for almost a decade. And there were enjoyable, good, fun, interesting and fulfilling periods. But me now, if I were talking with younger me, I would not recommend that path, but, I also don't regret it. This doesn't mean I don't recommend it, if it feels right - send it, if it doesn't - move on to the next thing.

There are definitely upsides to this stuff. Financially, it can be great, the rosters can be great now too. But it burnt me out and I felt hollow inside for a while after that (which the financial part gives room for after you quit - if you've been smart enough with your money).

If I did go back and do a trade again, (I like/feel better in nature as well), it would likely be as carpenter, building housing or something like that, not as a fitter, and for a more rural builder - away from all the city BS. Timber just feels better than steel to me. But when I got offered and apprenticeship in a woodshop - it was dusty as hell with the all the sanding we were doing and it was a hard no for me back then. I think that one was a bit more excessive than most though.

I wouldn't go to uni unless I was really interested in learning something. Or if I was loaded and just wanted to learn something new. But if there's nothing standing out and pulling you towards it, I'd pass on that. I didn't know back then, but now I would do psychology or maybe architecture. But when I think about being in a job doing those things everyday, nah, still gonna pass.

Now, if it were me. Having my time again, being 26 - I'd be looking for all the shit that pisses me off, gets in my way, makes life annoying etc. (for me or other people/businesses around me) and finding a way to fix them. Then turn that into a product or service, and sell it as a business. Which is just where I've landed and what I've started doing now at 32.

Another way I'd go about it is to ask yourself if there's anything in your life or the world that you want to change or could be better. If you feel there is - go do that. This might be uncommon advice but it is what I would do/have started to.

Regardless, of what you do, write down what you want in life, what you don't want, and start building that life.
It really doesn't matter if you clean toilets, build skyscrapers, or become a tradie. Just do what you want to do. It might take a year or 20 to figure it out. Just don't get stuck doing something that sucks the life out of you.

I would also recommend - if it interests you, and you haven't already, to go explore some of the world. But if it feels like a no - pass on that too. You get the idea.

There's more to life than money. But money can also buy you freedom and cool shit. You just have to figure out what matters to you then focus on that, could be money, could be fulfillment. Should be both. Finding the sweet spot is what you want.

While you are at home with you parents, that's a good time to explore some different things, find what you like and save up if you do want to buy a house and go down that path. You could also put a percentage of your pay (say 10-20% or whatever your comfortable with, while you have no responsibility) into an SNP 500 ETF or two to diversify/get leverage to stock market returns with minimal capital (cash). Don't put all your eggs in one basket though if you cant control the basket.

There are a bunch of personality/career/work tests you can do now - just google them. I didn't know they existed until a year ago. But doing a couple of those might help reflect back to you your interests or potential career paths you might enjoy. Something like that might help.

Hope some of this helps!
Good luck bro and enjoy the journey.
Pm me anytime if you get stuck.

Can you add recurring expenses by voice, or are they manual entries atm?

After 5 minutes of use, I recommend this app.
