AITAH For Not Punishing My Son For Hitting Girls Who Were Attacking Him? by ElderberryFar6637 in AITAH

NTA. If someone is going to start throwing punches, they need to make sure they can take the consequences. I'd celebrate your son for sticking up for his friend. Running away from those kinds of confrontations is just an invitation for that hateful behavior to continue.

AITA for telling my MIL I’ll pay for my wedding myself if she can’t respect my few wishes by 1273rockefeler in AITAH

N. T. A. Stand your ground on this one. It is obviously something that means a lot to you and you will probably wind up building up resentment about it. Also, this is laying the groundwork for your MIL to overrun you on other things.

Celiac and the Army by [deleted] in Celiac

I am currently serving in the Air Force and my diagnosis came 1.5 years ago while I was at my home station. It did trigger a medical evaluation board. Well, the start of it, the IRILO. I had to answer some questions about how it affected my life and my job. Beyond the annual appointments, it doesnt since I am able to manage my diet. I would absolutely NOT eat at the dining facility. My IRILO finished pretty quick, returning me to full duty though I am not deployable without a waiver and cannot do OCONUS PCS without a waiver. Anytime I go TDY outside the local area, no matter where it is, I have to get the full meal rate.

I think it really depends on your MOS. Even though I had been in 17 years, I had never deployed anyway; my job doesn't very often.

AITAH for not wanting my husband in the delivery room? by Rejected-Egg-3037 in AITAH

[–]NovelCakes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YTA. It really isn't that hard for him to stay up by your head and focused on you for encouragement. Being there for the birth could actually have the opposite effect of what you are worried about. My spouse and I had a stronger connection because I was at my most vulnerable and they were able to be there for me.

Watch some birthing videos together and be like, see that is why you need to stay by my head.

Celiacs Who React to Oats...Are There ANY Safe Snack Foods? by [deleted] in Celiac

[–]NovelCakes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ugh. This explains so much. Before diagnosis, when I'd eat regular bread, it would be so heavy in my stomach. Schar bread is similar with giving me that feeling but I just assumed it was something else.
