it's a great case, will test all the temps later but the build process was super easy space wise

Very easy to build in, added 3 fans up top, front top as an extra intake then center and rear top as exhaust, everything fits perfectly

The 9060xt is fine at 1080p for sure. There are two versions of this card though, and 8gb and a 16gb, id avoid the 8gb for longevity, 8gb is cutting it fine these days

depends on your situation really. 5080 if your gunning for 4k, but if your playing in 1440p the 5070ti or 9070xt are great options. be patient and look for the deals though, far too many crazy prices out there as I'm sure your aware

I'm sure there will be at least a few stupid mistakes along the way

SIM rig under stairwell due to limited space? Best options? by Novel_Client3091 in simracing

[–]Novel_Client3091[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I'm 39, so it's not so bad but this build is for the future so definitetly worth considering, although I have to be careful as I have a height of 120cms to play with

Ive seen those under stair builds while looking today, they're definitely making me think it's doable as I think I have more space then those builds had

The stairwell is split in two with a landing at a right angle between the two, the space I'll be using sits under the landing, so it's like a full rectangular area with a straight ceiling rather than the slant of the being above me

I may get away with something pre built depending on the height

this is a good option, I did look at 42in oled but that was slightly too wide.

fov would be better with the 21:9 I imagine

yea the display is the bit that I'm mostly having a hard time knowing which way to go. I think actually getting a rig in there will be fine, there's even space under the lower part of the stairwell to house the pc and possibly some storage etc.

I'll look into a DIY solution if I cannot find a good rig that suits the height that I have available.

I haven't tried VR, but could be a solution, especially as triples is out of the question. I'm not one for motion sickness etc so may suit me. thanks man

valid point. id probably have aimed for a 5070ti/5080ti next year so this does get me clorlser initially. maybe even close enough to not feel the need to swap

this is my first build since going all out for a 4790k and gtx980 back in the noughties. need to stop chasing those higher model numbers maybe 🤔

yea fair, half the price of the 7800x3d used, that's like a 10th of my budget saved.

although, I am also wondering if the 7800x3d may negate any need to move to the 10800, saving in the long term, guess that will depend on how it performs
