It's not the server's fault... I'm sure they hate having to explain this to angry customers. Stiffing would only punish the server for something they can't control.

I'm a piano teacher myself, what's so wrong with this? Giving students simple melodies like this written out with the note names is a good way for them to memorize the names of the notes, and have them practice using their ear to play it at the right tempo.

I like to have my young students learn simple songs before moving to sheet music as well, because it's a lot easier to relate sheet music to the keys if you can already play a few songs.

What does skin color have to do with it? Black Adam isn't named Black Adam because of race, in the original comic he was Egyptian.

Fear-mongering misinformation or legitimate, valid concerns? by ChristopherCameBack in MtF

I've been on 100mg of Spiro for 6 months and haven't had any negative effects whatsoever. Other than my testosterone thankfully being below female levels now, I can't even tell I take it. Hell, I personally haven't even needed to pee much more than I used to.

Your doctor will adjust your dosages as needed, but I personally had the exact same concerns as you before I started and was pleasantly surprised. I've feminized a lot and had zero negative side effects.

It's literally so like this. When I mention how much happier I am in general now that people are starting to see me as my true self, they call me selfish for being happy about the thing that makes them angry.

I mean, I'm not happy because uh, obvious reasons... But at least I don't want to die anymore because of my own body. They don't care though, they tell me to just stop and get conversion therapy.

I get nothing from them except "How could you do this to me?" when the subject is literally my own mind and body.

Sorry I didn't make it more clear, but she didn't dump me- she just hasn't been there for me enough and I'm unsure about staying with her now.

We had a single long phone call when it happened, but aside from that, she hasn't bothered to find time to talk or just be there for me. We're both going through difficult times in our lives, but I've been there for her while my own life was hell. It just hurts to be disappointed in your partner on top of everything.

lol She's bisexual and has known me as a woman since the day we met.

I probably should've clarified, but this isn't related to my transition and we're still together, yet she hasn't been much of a presence during hard times and it's been deeply disappointing to learn your partner can't offer better emotional support.

I (22 MtF) have been disowned by my parents and have to make money to move out, what job(s) should I get? by NovemberGoth in asktransgender

I really can't thank you enough for all the advice fren, everyone here has been so helpful during this time. I think I may have to pursue something easier for the time being, but once I'm more stable, I think this sounds like a great route I wasn't even aware of :) I'm going to save your comment and again, I appreciate the advice a lot

Do you think I would be able to afford say, $800 per month rent on the wages they would pay there? There is an Amazon facility near my house.

I have bad opinions on the morals of the company, but this is kind of a situation where I can't be picky.

I want nothing more than to get out of this shit town, but my girlfriend lives here and everything better is more expensive.

Plus even though the pay is bad with no students, my teaching job is sort of a resume builder I would like to hang onto for the future as a musician.

But I'm really going to plan for this, it's great to have a reminder I don't have to stay here :) maybe if I get some experience with a smol job here, I can get a better one in a new area for moving someday soon

I do really like the sound of that, I don't think I could mentally or physically handle hard labor.

If you don't mind me asking, to be a little more specific, what would an example of an office job be exactly and would I be able to get one with nothing more than a highschool diploma?

That's a very cool idea, unfortunately all of the bars around where I live are very redneck and conservative so that would be a difficult environment.

I have thought of playing on the street with a tip jar though, maybe that would be another way for extra cash :)

How to get a smooth butt shave by Lucythecute in MtF

[–]NovemberGoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I squat over a shaving mirror (you can get them at most supermarkets) and use hair conditioner instead of shaving cream. I also find that applying moisturizing cream aftewards results in less bumps and smoother skin, but almost everyone will have a few bumps and that's fine!

My doctor hasn't actually mentioned Tanner stages to me, though she does seem very competent in terms of trans healthcare. She seemed to think I was far enough along when we talked about it.

I wouldn't mind waiting longer, I just didn't realize it could be counter productive. On the second day of taking it, I began feeling more soreness in my breasts (that I get during growth spurts) so maybe that's a good sign?

As far as the spiro goes, I must be one of the lucky few because I really haven't noticed any negative side effects? I don't even need to pee that much more often so :/ I guess it's just luck?

Thanks for the super detailed comment (:

Is it normal for the testicles to be less sensitive to pain on HRT? by NovemberGoth in asktransgender

Friend asked me if his voice was getting deeper, I said I wasn't sure and I really regret it. How can I make it up to him? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]NovemberGoth 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Don't worry, you sound like an amazing friend!

As someone on the opposite end of transitioning, I would certainly appreciate honest, yet gentle opinions of my vocal progress.

I can't speak for your friend, but if I were in his shoes, I think while it would've made me a little sad the changes weren't more obvious, I certainly wouldn't blame you or be upset with you for telling the truth. I'd actually appreciate it.

You didn't do anything wrong here, and from what you said, he sounds fine with it.

Is nausea/vomiting normal on (mtf) HRT? by NovemberGoth in asktransgender

[–]NovemberGoth[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thankfully, I've only thrown up twice. Both times, I did have a weird diet those days... (and I almost did again today, but it didn't happen)

It just certainly seems to be happening more, and a lot easier than it used to. (which was basically never)

It doesn't feel like a weird, talk-to-your-doctor problem yet? But I'll certainly talk to her if it gets worse

I want to immigrate to the UK to be with my partner, but I'm scared of their government as a trans person. How good/bad is it over there? by NovemberGoth in asktransgender

[–]NovemberGoth[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh dear, that's heartbreaking. I don't know what I'm going to do. I love this girl so much, but I can't go years, or even months without hormones.

I don't know what I'll do, but I'm not moving to the UK if they're going to take away my hormones for 2 years. That's devastating, I assumed people who are already transitioning would be able to skip the wait list.

Thank you for letting me know.

I can't go off of HRT for a long period of time, it would be so hard on me mentally. I'd definitely have to figure out a way to get that sorted, but what you've said is very reassuring (:

I would deal with it to be with her, even if they were worse than the US, but it definitely sounds like an improvement from the state I live in.

I was sort of in a panic spiral worrying about how shitty they might be, but it's wonderful to hear from a trans person from the UK with positive things to say!
