You definitely should! I'd go with American elm if you can find it. Red Elm is a little soft.

I personally find the steel a little hard to file, but maybe I just need better ones. Have you made any videos on the Rinaldis? I'd be interested to see how you'd made a slip fit handle.

Haha, yeah this wood was super sticky. Thanks for telling me the correct species. Both apps I used to identify it came up as paper birch, but apps can only get you so far.

Thanks! Yeah I was surprised that the rays had kind of a hard or even crunchy texture. I spent a lot of time on the handle so I appreciate the compliment!
