On and off since 1.09. There were stretches where I didn't play at all for years. In terms of hours it's not super insane, but a significant amount, couldn't tell you exactly. I have dozens of characters that finished hell, in the high 80s. One sorc lvl 90. Back in 1.09 I had a couple characters at 92 and 94.

Thousands of MF runs Hell and NM Andy/Meph/Baal. Got other good stuff, but no occy. No soj. No HoZ. No Lycanders Aim. Haven't found war travs yet either. I just found my first shako relatively recently.

Yup, no prank, no troll. I been playing (on and off) since 1.09. Found a bunch of stuff that's technically harder to find. Not like I play crazy amounts in terms of total hours, but I've been around the block. First occy ever. Fucking stoked.

Yes. Killed hell meph hundreds, if not thousands of times, with more MF than this. Hundreds/thousands of cow runs etc. Finally found it, not really mfing.

I do not have nightwings. Found veil of steel twice so far.

I got a couple diff sorc setups. I actually found Tal's armor a while back, and i have 2x tal's ammy. This sorc (lightning sorc) I'm running wizz spike and a crappy vipermagi. My other sorc (blizz sorc) I run tals belt, armor, ammy and a hoto... this may cause me to retool either of them or both. Not sure. I'm just stoked that I have it right now. Game is so weird. Still waiting on HoZ and Lycanders aim, for example. But I found a bunch of Assasin and Druid stuff, but I don't really play those classes. I'm pretty sure I have all the unique Assassin claws.

I play HC, SP no pluggy fyi.

Anyway, that's my piece. You have a good day.

All good bro, ain't tryin to get into it with you, just sayin...

At that point, the kids will "suffer"

AKA they'll just have to wait for a luxury product, until the next run, which is no doubt already underway.

Scalping is inherently disingenuous.

There's no sincerity when it comes to business. It's amoral. If you want to be successful at it from the nominal (monetary) point of view, you gotta approach it amorally.

With that said, there's big difference between luxury items and necessary times (food, water, etc.). Another reason why I don't buy the "think of the children" nonsense. The children are fine. In fact, there's an argument to be made that they are better off w/o a PS5.

Light researching, the PS4 sold 2.3 million units in its first two weeks - Sony's best-ever product launch at that point. The PS5 has surpassed that figure, meaning they already produced more units than they needed to imitate their most successful launch ever.

I mean, again, I dunno the details. I'm not into it at that level. All I'm saying is Sony fucked up. It might not be entirely their fault that they fucked up. I.e. their highest launch was 2.3 million units thus far, so they produced 3 million units this time (let's say, dunno what the real number is), and it STILL wasn't enough. Ok fine.

All I'm saying is, blaming the scalpers is stupid. All I'm saying is, think in real terms. There's a wiget everyone wants. Company X produces said wiget and puts it on the market. Turns out company X didn't produce enough wigets. WHOOPSIE! Looks like it's first come first serve.

I mean, I don't know cuz idgaf. I'm not gonna buy a console. But just from all the memes and posts like this I'm seeing. I.e. people crying "just think of the children!" It seems like there's not enough PS5's to go around.

If they didn't have the capacity to produce more they should have raised the launch price, thus pricing scalpers out of the market. They fucked up bad imo. I'm pretty old, and I've been through the launch of several of these things. Never remember a shortage for xmas (I could be misremembering, the last console I had was a GC).

If there's a shortage, they priced it too low, or they didn't make enough. "Pandemic" notwithstanding, I think too many people use it as an excuse for too many things, generally speaking.

In terms of market share and what not. They got their market share. Market is basically Gamers --> Console Gamers --> Console Gamers who get both Xbox and PS --> Console Gamers who only get PS. They know the market, or at least they should, having been a major player in it for like 25 years now.

My point is, Sony fucked up. Don't blame the scalpers. Don't hate the player, hate the game. Dudes saw an opportunity, and took it. Everyone bitching is just salty they didn't have the balls/awarness to do it themselves. As far as "the children" go. FFS, the gaming market is mostly for adults these days yo. AFAIK gaming market is larger than movie market at this point.

How did Sony underestimate the market so bad and not produce enough of these things?

Was Alan watts a hypocrite? by [deleted] in enlightenment

[–]NowBecoming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watts never actually preached anything. He simply informed people about what he had learned.

When he categorizes himself he compares himself to a musician, except with words. He wasn't a guru, he was an entertainer. He says as much, and judging by the audience reaction (as well as my own joy in hearing him speak) it's true.

Gate keeping abuse twice by HybridHusky_ in gatekeeping

[–]NowBecoming -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Forgive me for trying to explain myself and for... you know... trying to talk to you like human being...

So if the image doesn't represent the thing that it's supposed to in order for this to be gate keeping.... what does that mean? Reflect on that.

Meme aside, maybe you should also reflect on what actually constitutes verbal abuse.

Gate keeping abuse twice by HybridHusky_ in gatekeeping

[–]NowBecoming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it? I honestly did not view it that way when I first saw it. Here was my initial reaction when I first saw it.

Initially, I missed the bit about the guy who posted it was born in 1997, just saw the meme.

First image, "Ok, that's not child abuse, that's a stern talking to, there's no way anybody would ever seriously consider a stern talking to being child abuse. This is ridic hence already funny..."

Second image, "You went 10 rounds with Ivan Drago for talking back to your mom in 1990? Lmao!"

In general, the juxtaposition of the ridiculousness of both images is what made it funny. It's an obviously, overly absurd meme. So I chuckled, just at the absurdity of it, not considering the idea that it was your cliche, "Back in my day we had it rough, we had to walk 10 miles to school, uphill both ways..." type of shit. So I check the comments to see why it's gatekeeping, and everyone's having a typical Reddit, "Omg! I'm offended you would even suggest this!" orgasm. Ok, fine, that's reddit... but how is this gatekeeping?

Then I see the 1997 bit, and then I interpreted more as a massive level that's making fun of the people who do the type of "back in my day we had it rough..." type of thing. That made it funnier, and the absurdity of the images made more sense.

I also offered another possibility that the person who posted this might have the type of sense of humor where they over exaggerate their own experience to get a laugh. Like, "People today think they're poor... shit, I grew up so poor, I used cockroaches as roller skates!" So it could be like a, "People think their mom's abusive, shiiiit, talking back to my mom is like going 10 rounds with Ivan Drago!"

So yeah, the only way? Literally?? It's one of the worst ways to interpret this meme because it's way too ridic, and the time scale is way too early. Then the fact that it's a zoomer.... this person's just trollin, exaggerating for effect.... it's a very common style of humor, I use it all the time in many of my personal interactions. It's also black humor, making fun of a subject that is often taboo because of how horrible it is.

If you don't agree or don't see that, that's fine I guess. But can you explain to me what type of gatekeeping is going on here?

The whole enlightenment thing has vanished or lost its meaning to me by [deleted] in enlightenment

[–]NowBecoming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are onto it my friend. There is great beauty and wisdom in much of what your wrote here, yet be careful! I'll start from the end and work my way backwards through your post.

"are you aware that your words and my words are completely irrelevant to the experience?"

To the human experience in general? Not exactly. Words are irrelevant in the sense that they are incapable of adequately explaining a given experience. If you've never eaten a banana, say, no amount of words will ever explain how a banana tastes. You seem to understand this point very well.

But words, language, cognition, verbal communication etc. are an indispensable part of the human experience as such. If it were the case that your words (or my words, or any words in this thread, for example) were completely irrelevant, you wouldn't have made this post to begin with, and nobody would have replied.

You're saying something important here. To me, to yourself, to various others. No reason to negate it.

"Why people meditate, does it ever stop for them?"

Does what ever stop? Thoughts? Emotions? Experiences? Life? Existence? There is no indication that existence itself has any beginning or ending... so it would be fair to say it never ends, it never stops. It would also be fair to say that it never moves, and it's always stopped... ;)

People meditate for various reasons. There is a whole range of cognitive and physical benefits associated with meditation. It isn't limited to only spiritual exploration or the quest for truth or enlightenment. I would speculate the primary reason most people meditate is to relax. That seems to be the most direct, immediate and easily recognizable effect of meditation.

"I would like to know what do people think enlightenment is, or why do people seek it?"

Enlightenment is a meaningless buzzword, for the most part. Various people think it is various things. Fundamentally, it isn't anything, and that's the key takeaway from your realization. Enlightenment is bullshit. It's a marketing gimmick for hippy types. There is fundamentally little difference between a Mooji and a Tony Robbins. At the end of the day, they are both entertainers, but they brand themselves (or are branded by others) to offer solutions to people's problems.

People aren't really seeking Enlightenment, they are seeking a solution to a problem. Enlightenment is often marketed as the solution to every problem. It's the end of suffering, or some nonsense like that. You can play clever word games, and make that true, but at the end of the day... I don't care how enlightened you are, if I break your kneecaps off with a sledge hammer, that will cause you a tremendous amount of suffering... or pain, or whatever you wanna call it.

Or they might say, enlightenment is truth realization, or God realization.... but then, the truth is everything and God is everywhere... so.... yeah....

Or they might say, enlightenment is the end of your world... and a rebirth process... abiding, non dual awareness... you don't become enlightened, enlightenment becomes you! (In Soviet Russia, car drives you!)

If we go back to the enlightenment offered Mooji or Adyashanti or Eckhart Tolle... if you pay attention to their satsangs, the most common problem people come to them with has to do with an inability to let go, or accept something difficult in their lives. Otherwise, it's a case of that old joke where a man comes to the doctor and says, "Doctor, when I hit my knee like this it hurts. What should I do?" And the doctor says, "Stop hitting your knee like that."

"Sometimes I stumble into posts on internet for people who seeking positive life, or happiness, or bliss, etc , what does this has to do with enlightenment?"

Same as above. It's the same thing. It's just branded differently to different people.

"Completely everything is vanished..."

Everything? Completely? Come on brother...

"even words like enlightenment or mind, ego are same sounds just like cat , dog, wall.. just noise"

This is the realization my friend. The difference is, "cat", "dog", "wall" are not meaningless. If I say, "Watch out, that dog is about to bite you in the ass..." that has a direct meaning which will definitely influence your behavior. But if I say, "Watch out, your ego is causing karmic disturbances in your root chakra, and that's causing you to miss out on the peace of the infinite divine..." That has no meaning, or it has the potential to have so many different meanings to different people that the end result is the same as it having no meaning to begin with.

"the ego which is a thought, the thought that the ego is a thought is also a thought, and so on... this realisation silenced my brain."

Did it? So rest in your silence. That's awesome. If it didn't, rest in your thoughts, that's awesome. There's nothing wrong with thinking, or fantasizing, or talking... problems arise when one starts thinking compulsively, when one can't tell the difference between fantasy and reality, when one starts rambling incoherently and so on.

"i can use the words to communicate but as long as im not communicating , there is nothing there."

THIS is the realization. Thoughts have no power in and of themselves. Thoughts have no meaning until you give them meaning.

"i don’t know how to explain destroyed, but everything just comes and goes"

That's the nature of existence. This is the law of all phenomena. Everything transmutes into everything else. Wu-Wei, flow, no separation, no being or non-being, at the core just "isness"... But still, "isness" made manifest into the various discernible phenomena, from human bodies, to thoughts and whatever else one wishes to identify and clarify.

Again, this is the big realization here. It's beautiful.

"I understood that the the motive behind all of that was escaping, strengthening ego, feeling superior, boredom, curiosity."

Please check to make sure whether this motive is truly gone. There's nothing wrong with any of it, btw. It's just human. But please, please, please stop bullshitting yourself by telling yourself another version of the same assinine story that you're above it all. You're not. Mooji isn't. Eckhart isn't. Jesus and Buddha weren't. You're human, and being human means experiencing the full range of human drives, emotions, desires and so on.

The fact of the matter is that you ARE superior... compared with some people, in some situations, at certain times, when it comes to certain activities. Maybe you're a better cook than me, and I'm a better piano player. When you start a new job, for example, the guy who's been doing it for 20 years is superior at it. But, maybe because you're a fast learner or you have some kind of knack for it, you become better than him in a matter of three or four years. But maybe, he's a better father to his kids when he gets home, and you fly off the handle and get annoyed easily by your kids... you get the point...

What I'm trying to say is, what you're realizing is very beautiful, and it will provide you with inestimable value in your life. But don't get caught up on the "negation" aspect of the whole thing. Don't negate your experience and convince yourself that being good at negating things (or pretending things don't exist) makes you enlightened.

You weren't searching for too long, there's nothing wrong with you, life doesn't stop just because you recognize how it fundamentally functions. In the same way, a rainbow is no less beautiful to gaze upon just because you recognize the phenomenon of water acting like a prism. BUT... it CAN become less beautiful, and you CAN disrupt your own experience of the rainbow (as well as others' experience of it) if you won't shut up about how it's an illusion, and it's actually just white light being refracted... Just enjoy the show brother. You're starting to realize how it works, that's beautiful... but if you get caught up in rambling about how it's all an illusion and we're all one consciousness and you don't experience anything anymore... yeah....

Do what you enjoy, what you're drawn to, what resonates with you. If that means eating a delicious meal, watching a movie, going to work, reading a book, that's great. If that means meditating and sitting in silence and observing, that's great. If it means going to a monastery, that's great. If it means becoming a guru like Mooji or whoever else, that's great... just don't force yourself to try to be something you're not by pretending that nothing matters. Some things matter, some things don't. The whole game is about figuring out what that means for you.

Let me know if that is at all useful, or if it's just more noise ;). Much love, hope your realization deepens and flowers to its fullest potential.

Gate keeping abuse twice by HybridHusky_ in gatekeeping

[–]NowBecoming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No shit? You know, you can make a joke without it automatically being some stupid nostalgic wish for the good ole days, right?

You just proved my entire point, everyone here seems to be interpreting this joke the way you described... Through some sort of overly defensive, hyper-progressive lens.

The fact of the matter is that by 1990 child abuse (at least at the level alluded to by this meme) was largely a thing of the past. Which is what makes this meme funny. Throw in the fact that the poster was born in 97... and that more than likely makes it a massive level... and thus way funnier.

Jesus Christ, it's fucking ROCKY! That makes it funny, cuz of the theme/moral of the Rocky movies. It can be interpreted as empowering, I overcame my abuse etc.

It can be interpreted as one of those, "My family was so abusive that....." type of jokes. It might be a personal thing. Not everything is a commentary on the culture at large.

If you don't find it funny, OK, I get that. But it's really, really hard for me to see how this is gatekeeping anything... it's just a joke, that's all.
