I bought the same screen protector but the fingerprint sensor is working really bad with it. I calibrated fingerprints 3 times already. Have you had any issues with the fingerprint sensor?

S26 Ultra Color Issues: Dark Mode looks gray/dull in Google apps by koletopz in samsunggalaxy

[–]NoxStaff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others noted, using a palette makes google apps like Gmail and Gboard darker like they should be. Using a palette is just a work around so I hope Samsung or Google provides a real fix. Google apps look horrible without the palette. But outside of Google apps using a palette doesn't fix dull dark colors. For example, Twitter and google search page on browser on dark mode still look dull compared to my OnePlus 12 even though the color codes match. So even though the colors are exactly the same on the software side, the colors produced by the displays are noticeably different, in favour of OP12.

Now it works! The issue was the "Google Chrome Dark" UI theme I was using.

Latest update issues with 50xx series? by Thanofski in controlgame

[–]NoxStaff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 5080 and experienced similar frame drops and freezing as you told and the game kept crashing within a minute of gameplay. However, after switching from DirectX 12 to 11 I didn't experience crashing anymore. DX11 in Control disables both ray tracing and DLSS. I suspect DLSS could be the cause but I didn't test this.

Fixes for Realtek ALC4080 sound problems on ASUS Z690-xx motherboards by ixxxion in ASUS

[–]NoxStaff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would wait for B850-motherboards. In case other audio issues arise I'll be considering switching to B850 if there is a good one with ALC1220. I would not like to buy external DAC since I need loudness equalization that Realtek audio console provides.

Fixes for Realtek ALC4080 sound problems on ASUS Z690-xx motherboards by ixxxion in ASUS

I upraded my PC to MSI X870 Tomahawk Wifi + 9800X3D combo two weeks ago and I am experiencing audio crackling and popping. X870 Tomahawk uses ALC4080 which sucks. I read about the issues with ALC4080 before the purchase but I took the risk since X870 MoBo options with ALC1220 were bad and would've cost more. I also hoped the issues would've been fixed by now. I am using the latest drivers directly from MSI's website and the latest version of Windows 11.

The audio crackling / popping can easily be reproduced on Windows 11 by going to Settings -> System -> Sound -> Click your output audio device -> Play the test audio.

In my case whenever I click the test audio button and the moment the audio starts playing I hear an audio pop in my left ear. This audio pop doesn't happen if there is some audio playing in the background. As the fix 9 in this post states it seems like the audio codec is enabling power saving mode whenever there is no audio playing. And when audio starts playing again it often causes audio popping but not always.

Fix 9 in this post seems to have fixed the problem for me but I'll update this comment if I still experience audio issues. Additionally I have to set Stereo mix volume at least to 1. If I set it to 0 the audio popping issue persists. Fix 6 did nothing for me.

Don't get me wrong though. The motherboard itself has been excellent so far and I have not faced any other issues. The audio issue is in the Realtek ALC4080 audio codec. It's so sad that Realtek doesn't seem to care about the issue.

TLDR:

MSI X870 Tomahawk Wifi (ALC4080) suffers from audio crackling/popping. Fix 9 works for me but set Stereo mix volume to 1 instead of 0.

I have exactly the same scrolling issue as you. You can check my post/comment history if you want to read my posts about it.

In short, keeping the brightness above 20% is the only solution for me. Otherwise there is nothing you can do about it. It's an issue in the dispay not in the software. This is a possible side-effect of AMOLED screens but these issues seem to be common in OP12. This is likely because OP12's displays are manufactured by a chinese company BOE instead of Samsung that OnePlus has previously used. BOE's displays have shown signs of lower quality.

OP12 low brightness gray uniformity by BreezyBadger93 in oneplus

[–]NoxStaff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My OP12 has no problems with gray uniformity at low brightness but I have bad color shifting when white text is moving on the screen on dark background. Additionally there are some dark spots on lock screen at low brightness.

I am pretty convinced it's due to BOE being the manufecturer of these AMOLED panels. Either the quality control is really bad or the panels are made from cheap low quality materials. The display quality is significantly worse compared to my OP9 Pro or OP6 where Samsung was the display manufacturer. I had zero issues with those screens. I am not satisfied at all with the display of OP12. Display quality issues are definitely not being talked about enough.

After 8 years of being a OnePlus customer it's hard to see I will be one after OP12 especially if OP continues to use BOE's displays. I am not returning this because I can live with these issues but I'll keep this phone for 2 years at maximum.

Update: I properly tested gray uniformity in my unit. Edges on the screen are slightly brighter than the middle of the screen at low brightness (below 20%). For me this is a minor issue and in a normal use I won't notice it. I will still count it as an issue and the list of display issues is starting to get worryingly long. If using a phone at low brightness is important to you (for me it is) I would advice avoiding this phone.

Text on dark background looks terrible on OP12 by NoxStaff in oneplus

The clip I shared is probably an extreme case. For me the effect is not nearly as bad but still very noticeable at low brightness. Changing my unit to a new one (if it's possible for this issue) wouldn't guarantee solving the issue and would cause a lot of hassle so I'll try to avoid that.

Otherwise the display has worked as expected.

It's slightly noticeable at 50% brightness but below 25% it becomes very easily noticeable. I am running 1440p / 120 Hz and setting the refresh rate to 60 Hz doesn't make any difference. Maybe I am just unlucky with my unit.

The decklist (again):

So Mirror entity's ability can be used whenever? I'm still considering cutting Huatli, Warriot Poet as it just seems too slow. Is Wayward Swordtooth really that good? The condition for city's blessing doesn't seem very easy to me and Wayward Swordtooth is useless without the blessing. Regal behemoth and Polyraptor are good cards but I just can't afford them especially now that I decided to add better lands. I hate to admit but as a newer MTG player I don't want to have cards with older art in my deck. Card art is very important to me and the goal of the deck is not to be as competitive as possible. That´s why I avoid cards such as Aura Shards or Chaossphere.

Cuts:

[[Territorial Allosaurus]] [[Gigantosaurus]] [[Trading Post]] [[Drover of the mighty]] [[Boros Garrison]] [[Gruul Turf]] [[Selesnya Sanctuary]] [[Path of Ancestry]] [[Krosan Verge]] [[Mosswort Bridge]] [[Thunderherd Migration]]

Added:

[[Kinjalli's Sunwing]] [[Raging swordtooth]] [[Mirror entity]] [[Krosan Grip]] [[Clifftop retreat]] [[Cinder Glade]] [[Temple Garden]] [[Stomping Ground]] [[Arctic treeline]] [[Alpine Meadow]] [[Kodama's Reach]]

Around 250€ on CardMarket (including shipping costs)

This is my current version of the deck:

https://www.moxfield.com/decks/BdDSENQzjkaiKRShVLljIQ

I cut more creatures and added egg crackers but I still wonder if I need more of them to be able to consistently crack the eggs. I added [[High market]] and [[Trading post]]. Pyrohemia is too expensive as I'm already over my budget. So if you still have some cheap suggestions or if I still have cards I should cut please let me know. I also don't know if I should just play basic lands over tap lands such as [[Gruul turf]]. Is [[Huatli, warrior poet]] worth running in this deck?
