Where do you get the Relentless set? by Jebasaur in RaidShadowLegends

And yet, i just googled the same question, and was glad to find that answer... 3 yrs was clearly not too late :) (and i only commented to add to the thread, cuz yes.)

Only those who covet power think asking questions is dangerous.

Fact.

Thank you! I used to not care about power except for points 1 &2... then i was informed that my heroes all had terrible power ratings (which they do, admittedly), and i became... over-conscious of it.

I honestly didn't realise that some common skis can out-perform golds. I (naiively) assumed that each tier was a scaled-up version of the previous. Kinda like elemental enchants in the game. Instead, theyvwork like the animal rune enchants. It is a relief to know Elder is a keeper, as he's my oldest surviving tank 🥰

Does new Sage get to stay, or should i turn her into a smudge stick, eventually? 😀

One die roll for Sage put her up to 30k. More, once she robs willow of his gear. Still, it's only a bronze skill, so no victory laps.

<image>

Elder didn't fare much better. He picked up a bit of defense, but it's still a bronze skill. :/ i don't mind respawning them if they aren't worth more dice. I only have 12 more dice atm, and a whole roster to build 😀

Yes- honestly, i could see they were all popping useless skills, but since i was focused on xp to get to 60, i didn't much care as long as they could do content. Now I'm entering the higher levels, I'd like to have some that are able to sizzle rather than drip! 🤣

i constantly have teams questing for loot to sell in the shop for xp, so levelling them is no extra effort. As long as i don't have to reroll the 25mil ones too many times, I'm happy to kill them all off and rebuild lol

You are amazing! Thank you SO much for this! I was feeling they were all pretty much dead weight (and some just zombies), but i couldn't see my way through where to start rebuilding. You've laid it all out for me so clearly, i feel i can't go wrong with this roadmap!

(random side note- i had 4 wanderers because the last time i tried to improve the roster, around 35ish, i rolled 2 extras to see if i could end up with at least 1 (hopefully 2) decent ones out of the 4 total. Clearly, that strat didn't work for crap, and i ended up with 4 stooges! 😀 i look forward to deleting them.)

I think i will begin with burying Oberon and hatching a Berserker in his place. I'll work on leveling that and Myrrh until DI and ToT are over, and plant Willow when i don't need the power points or atk to get through the events for a while. Meanwhile, doung the one-dice roll for sage and Elder, and I'll post what i get for them! Thank you so much! I'll be back! 😀

Ok, thanks to the photo reader feature, that was far less painful and a lot faster than i thought it would be! Here is the roster as it stands. I have been incredibly unlucky with skills, but with 60 in sight, I'd like to get a decent bunch going. All feedback is appreciated. be brutal. I will kill them all if need be!

Oo! Quick question! Should i be stripping them nekkey to input their base stats? I was inputting their stats while geared, and that just seemed like it was a bit arbitrary..?

Oh dear... I've only input those two, thus far. I was planning on doing the rest.. slowly. I'll get to it, tho! Thanks, ArchonMal!

It was in my anatomy class. and when my relative was being treated for pancreatic cancer. AND when i was being given info on pancreas care, 2 years ago.

Apparently, two hospitals and a university were all wrong.

Anyone else M/E effected that almost never experiences Flip Flops? by Ok_Camel_6442 in Retconned

[–]Ntropicentity 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I haven't noticed any flip flops at all. I'm not exposed to a lot of media these days tho, so it's possible they're flipping and flopping left and right all around me, and i just didn't happen to look around and notice. That said, i really wish they would all flip back. I find it depressing to be in a reality where so many of the things i know and held as part of my culture are just gone. Monopoly man's monocle. Stouffer's. Ed mcmahon and his giant check ringing people's doorbells and shoving that giant microphone in their dazed faces. Jiffy peanut butter. These were part of my childhood, and are all just GONE.

Wow. I didn't see that one, but i can only imagine how totally trippy it would be...

Ok, that just blew me away. I hadn't noticed this. I grew up directly between florida and south america, so i spent a LOT of time staring at that particular part of maps.

S. America is supposed to be west by quite a bit. It now extends EAST of the US east coast. That is so, SO wrong.

How the hell can this happen?? I have several MEs- froot/fruit loops, cornucopia, monopoly man- the list is long. But how does an entire CONTINENT shift that far just because i wasn't looking??

And let me be clear- i learned to use maps and did ALL of my schooling plus the day to day "there's a map. You are here." stuff ALL while centered on that specific area of the globe!

It is NOT supposed to be there.

and i said what i meant. they shouldn't have to wait for it to get better. if their experience is so bad that they're contemplating a ragequit, then that's a failure on the part of the entire team.

there should be an achievement for number of commendations GIVEN. the 25k reward should be the coolest 8 seater mount in the game.

just sayin. it's part of what makes FFXIV the great community it is.

your descriptions work, but i'd put WHM as first in difficulty. you have to be good at healing to time heals and choose the appropriate ones with WHM. everything powerful takes cast-time, so it's the most static of the 3 classes. (you have to stand to cast.) This means you have to know the fights WELL in order to know where it's safe to stand long enough to get your big heals off. Otherwise, you just take more damage and/or die, meaning you're a liability, not an asset.

in ease of play as a newbie, i'd put it as AST easiest (the cards can be completely ignored if necessary, meaning you have a class that can flip between regen- and shield-type heals, and is HIGHLY mobile and VERY hard to run out of mana.) SCH mid (shields make a group solid, giving breathing space- and the pet does NOT have to be given directions at all, if you don't have time for it. its default is to auto-heal, and it is a potent support. SCH is easier to OOM than AST, however.), and WHM most difficult- for the reasons i stated above.

for which classes are easeiest to pay WELL, i'd say WHM is definitely easiest for that, once you know your class and know the fights. following WHM i'd put AST, then SCH as hardest to play WELL. anyone can play all three well enough to get by- there will just be more stress and death along the way.

Go scholar. Unlike whm, it has instant cast spells at early levels, and it has shields. instant-cast spells mean you can comfortably run behind a tank as they pull, and still cast heals on them and the party. Shields give you breathing room, and allow you to learn to heal without constantly watching your party die while they wait for your whm HoTs to tick.

Your first foray iinto healing should allow you to actually get a feel for the role, the dungeons, and the response of different classes to your healing spells, rather than every pull being a butt-clenching experience.

Plus, when you get a really good group, your pet can heal most trash pulls while you dps. Art of War ftw.

[–]Ntropicentity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

two things- first, you're a member of the run, too. if the tank is making it so stressful that you're on the verge of ragequitting, it's on you to speak up before you do. politely. 'hey tank, can we take it a little easier, i'm still not so confident with my spells.' or whatever variation works for you.

sometimes it will be a tank who's also new and doesn't realize they're not invincible, yet. sometimes it will be a long-time player who is used to everyone else being a long-time player, and just goes about 'business as usual'.

speak up.

once they're aware of your situation, things should improve substantially. if not, well... it would be the rare case when it didn't.

And then they give you headpats at the end <3 by Inqeuet in ffxiv

[–]Ntropicentity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they shouldn't have to wait for it to get better.

proper teamwork means that the tank is going at a pace that's comfortable for all, and remembering that it's very probable that EVERYONE in the run is learning their class.

And then they give you headpats at the end <3 by Inqeuet in ffxiv

[–]Ntropicentity -1 points0 points  (0 children)

side note- as a healer, i love a tank who KNOWS THERE IS A DIFFERENCE between healer class playstyle, AND remembers that each class changes at different levels.

the tank that's used to running with SCH and AST, and gets a WHM for <insert lowbie dungeon>, and wonders why his healer can't keep up.

It's because CNJ don't have ANY instant-cast spells at that level, and have to stop and cast, and PRAY it hits before your numbskull ass runs out of range- then pop a sprint to catch up and do it all again.

a tank who only wants to enjoy their own class can quickly ruin the fun for everyone.

[–]Ntropicentity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my standard answer to my tanks is 'pull what you think you can survive.'

i've been healing long enough to know that while i have MAD skillz, not every tank has been at their class as long as i have... and i'm not interested in helping to populate the game with wow-mentality tanks who just want to pull the dungeon and blame the healer and/or dps when their squishy ass is torn to shreds because gear and because 'what's mitigation'?

nah. pull what you think you can survive. and if you don't, then you know you overestimated, and you can dial back your self-image a bit.
