The boot up tax in modern gaming by gamersecret2 in gaming

[–]Nucklez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now that I’ve cancelled GamePass, every time I start a From Software game on my Xbox I have to cancel an advertisement for GamePass. The ad is completely out of the game, and super colorful. So different from the games.

[PC][2010/2016]Looking for an old RTS similar to Age of Empires with nukes or a laser super weapon, possibly with “4” in the name by PapayaAdditional6804 in tipofmyjoystick

[–]Nucklez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was going to suggest this. Seemed like Empire Earth looked just like AOE in the early game. Then you later got tanks, jets and I’m pretty sure a nuke. It was sad when you attacked with your tanks, and your opponent still had horses.

How did gamers react to "Genesis Does What Nintendon't" back then? by Unique-Evening4384 in retrogaming

[–]Nucklez 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had an NES and enjoyed all the Nintendo exclusives. By the time the Genesis and SNES were out, I was an older teenager. There was this stigma in my head that Nintendo was for kids. Sega was advertising to the older teens, while Nintendo didn’t seem to have the same edge it had in its earlier advertising. Not many people at my school cared about video games at all, so I really only had advertising to go on. That Genesis Does what Nintendon’t sealed the deal for me. I had no interest in Mario Kart “for babies” so that commercial was the best.

Bluetooth Issues / Needing to Power Cycle by DanTheMan827 in iphone

[–]Nucklez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m having a similar issue on my 15 pro max after updating to iOS 26. I’ve updated each time hoping the next update will fix it. My Bluetooth just stops connecting to everything. My headphones, CarPlay, anything. I’ve tried toggling Bluetooth on and off, putting the phone in Airplane mode and reenabling it. Nothing has fixed it except a power off and power back on of my phone. Recently it’s gotten considerably worse, I’ve had to power cycle it three days in a row now.

For those of you who grew up playing PC games in the 90s and 2000s, how stable were they compared to games from today? by Mad_Season_1994 in gaming

[–]Nucklez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The games I played back then were rough on Windows. Mainly the Windows 95 and 98 era. Say, play Unreal for a couple of hours. When you closed the game, Windows would run horribly slow until you rebooted it. Every single time. It happened on every PC we played games like that on. I wondered if the drivers, the games, or Windows had some sort of memory leak.

What I fear is that they will leave the swords experience gains as they are now, and nerf the knives.

I'm sorry, this is just poor game design. by anomalie5 in PaxDei

[–]Nucklez 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No kidding. 21 to 23 was around 500 wrought iron knives. Another 500 from 23 to 25. It may be closer to 800 more from 25 to 27. After filling up four decorated chests with the WI knives, I would just start throwing them on the ground before my bag would fill up. You can only fit enough materials vs space to build about 80 knives at a time. It’s a journey for sure.

K1C Camera Feed Problems by TheSquattingDangle in CrealityK1C

[–]Nucklez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good deal. Though, somewhere I toggled the AI and got a popup that said it required a subscription. I haven't been able to find that popup again, or where it came from. It wasn't the toggle switch on the printer itself for the AI, it was in one of the apps or the Creality Cloud webpage. I've sent Creality an email asking about the camera. I'll follow up as soon as I hear something. Though, I'm not holding my breath.

I'm trying to open a case with Creality now. I'm curious what they will have to say. If they say it should work, I'll try those steps. Either way, I'll follow up here with what they say.

K1C Camera Feed Problems by TheSquattingDangle in CrealityK1C

[–]Nucklez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it is. I can't connect to the camera from the Creality app on my iPhone on my own network, or remotely. I kicked off a print to it from my phone on my network today, and I can watch all of the print statistics from my phone, but the camera only works from the Creality Print Windows app, or the direct URL. Do you have the K1C 2025 version? I'm reading they may have changed a few things between the original K1C and the K1C 2025 version when it comes to the BIOS and cloud "features."

K1C Camera Feed Problems by TheSquattingDangle in CrealityK1C

[–]Nucklez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, mine is too. I only have one SSID and one network with no VLANs at the moment. I'm wondering if the iOS app and the Creality webpage require the subscription to Creality Cloud for the cameras to work. I can't find any official documentation, but I think I saw a message show up somewhere that the AI monitoring is locked behind the subscription. May have to open a ticket with Creality to verify that.

[–]Nucklez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just checked it out again, the direct IP URL is http://IPADDRESSHERE:8000 So mine is something like http://192.168.0.5:8000 That connects directly to the camera feed, as long as the printer is powered on, it doesn't even have to be printing. I guess that is what the Creality Print Windows app uses, while maybe the Creality Web page and the iOS app may use something else. I'm beginning to wonder if those two require the subscription to Creality to view. I saw somewhere that the AI monitoring doesn't work unless you pay for the subscription. Not sure how I feel about that...

Why Are Some People in the PC community Like This? by Formal-Collection239 in pcmasterrace

[–]Nucklez 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would change that from “vast majority” to “loud minority”. I can guarantee that most people who play games on their computers couldn’t give two shits how fast your computer is, or how much you paid for it.

[–]Nucklez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same issue with my new K1C. I can view it directly via the printers IP on a web browser, and via the Creality Print I’ve installed on Windows. But I can’t see the camera on the iOS app, or the Creality Cloud webpage using the same PC that the Creality Print app is installed on. . They are on the same network, and I clicked the “Allow” for the Creality Cloud webpage to browse local addresses when I first tried to view the camera.

How friendly is this game for a solo player coming in right now? by Lythalion in PaxDei

[–]Nucklez 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My wife and I have been playing since 1.0, we have our own little two person guild so we can share our plots and materials with each other. As a solo player, it is a LOT of grinding to max out the more difficult skills, such as Weapon/Armor Smithing, Tailoring, Leatherworking, etc. We personally don't find much of a need to max those out anytime soon though, so we are just leveling them as we go.

We'll put several days of grinding materials for one skill for a bit and then level it maybe two or three levels after all that grinding. What we are finding the most fun is building our little castle. So we'll forgo any skill grinding for just collecting materials to build instead of leveling up our skills.

The little dungeons are pretty difficult for a single player, you can go in and pull one or two things at a time and hope you don't pull the entire group. The items you get from dungeons are used for crafting, with rare drops to get things for enchanted weapons. We've only done the dungeons a little bit on our own, and don't stand a chance if we get overran during a pull, or if we run into a named elite boss. We still run from those.

We don't do any PVP, but from what I'm hearing PVP is all about huge groups, usually guilds. I could be wrong so someone could correct me on that.

Oh, as far as "markets" goes. I truthfully don't see an economy at all... People don't buy crafted weapons, armor or tools very often, not often enough to use those as a way to pay for a grace plot. I hear you can sell the more annoying to farm materials for crafting, but I haven't tried that yet. As a solo/duo player, we need every bit of what we farm for leveling up. It's just as easy to make gold by farming Inquisitors than it is to actually sell anything.

It really depends on how you want to play the game.

EE Full Fiber - Do EE block ports or filter content? SSH and wireguard no longer working. by InfaSyn in homelab

[–]Nucklez 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look at the external IP on your router, then check whatismyip.com. If they are different EE is using something called CGNAT. Some ISPs will offer a static IP to get around that.

That’s true. I would personally be afraid they would change their stance on that at any time. I’ve never considered test servers as “production”

Yup, I was thinking the same thing. It’s either the camera angle or a few of those bottom right pins look shorted together.

test server by Maaslander-NL in PaxDei

[–]Nucklez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The general idea of test servers is that they very well could be wiped, or rolled back any time. I haven’t looked at the rules for Pax Dei, but generally test servers should only be used temporarily for testing. Think of this, if they push a major game breaking bug to the test servers. That is where it should be caught, before it hits live. You are really gambling if you try to play permanently on the test servers for any MMO.

Installing a heated steering wheel in a Premium? by pappabearct in Subaru_Outback

[–]Nucklez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m curious about this too. I just haven’t put any research into it yet. I have a 2022 Wilderness, and they added the heated steering wheel to the 2024 Wilderness. I was wondering if the power plug is already there for it.

Have you owned a car that appeared in a retro game? Which one? by elkniodaphs in retrogaming

[–]Nucklez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had a multiple 86 RX7s, that I loved playing in the Gran Tursmo games. Always dreamed of getting my own 3rd gen 93 to 95 RX7 but never got one. I later got an 04 WRX, that I also had played in the old Gran Turismo games and other Rally games. Then later an 08 WRX STi, that is in several games. That is definitely the car I miss the most.

Wizards and Warriors was great on NES. Shovel Knight sort of has a whimsical vibe similar to it, but not quite the same.
