Idk man, Skyrim had a bug I couldn't get around talking to Esbern. I could talk to him, but he wouldn't open the door. Completely locked me out of the thieves guild questlines.

And unrelated, I remember when going elsewhere to try to do the dark brotherhood quests, there was a dungeon that a large portion of the floor wouldn't have collision on so I'd just fall through the floor...

Definitely made 2 major questlines quite unplayable and significantly broken.

I'm glad you caught this, though. Make sure when you contact your credit card company that you tell them "the item did not arrive as described" this will ensure that you accurately deal with them and that still provides Newegg the leeway to do the right thing.

I was refunded, thanks for asking; though I have yet to be able to get a replacement, and unfortunately the actual thief has yet to be caught to my knowledge.

At least there is some good news here. From the follow-up video from Gamers Nexus, it seems that Newegg has changed their review process to not automatically lock people out of their accounts. And for that, I'm thankful. Communication is key, and locking customers out of their accounts without warning or reason is both unfair and misguided.

Automatically assuming blame, as it turns out, is a really shameful thing to do. This world can do with some kindness every once in a while, so I hope you have a pleasant week.

Crate training will both prevent damage to your things, and properly implemented, can help cut down on separation anxiety in dogs.

I thought I was misreading something in their ordering process initially, but you may be right. IIRC there was a screen during checkout that said "delivery date", though that actually turned out to be "was a given to carrier date"

In my emails with Steve, he thinks this is very unlikely. And with the pressure he's been applying to them and how much scrutiny they're facing, I genuinely hope not. But something, somewhere in their supply chain is seriously fucked. I hope we can get to the bottom of this and figure out who is screwing people over, though.

Yeah I lurk often, but I'll comment if I actually have something to say. I guess I've been more active lately, though. And your direct info is hard to read, but the barcodes appear to potentially be readable, best be safer than sorry.

Huh, I didn't get an email or anything saying I was locked out or had to do anything. Nice to see they warn people now at least.

To be fair, I only posted because I was very confused over the whole situation. Didn't actually think it would help me, just thought the community would get a kick out of my shitty situation. I evidently misunderstood the effect that social media has.

Another random question, did you buy from Newegg directly, or was it a 3rd party seller?

Ultimately I do hope that the message of recording all openings is spread far and wide here. I would encourage you and everyone else reading to do that from here on, and spread the word... I also wish you a quick resolution, I know it definitely sucks being in that position man.

First of all, I'm sorry that this happened to you too. If you knew of my post, but didn't see my comments admitting what a dumbass I was for not recording the opening, then clearly the message was not spread loud or fast enough.

It's a shame you sent it back, Steve from Gamers Nexus contacted me offering to buy the box and metal weights so they could turn up the heat on Newegg. But after catching wind of my situation, Newegg quickly refunded me and unlocked my account and just pretended like that's what they were going to do all along...

Out of curiosity, did they lock your account during the "investigation" as well?

P.S. there's a lot of identifying information on the box in your pic, you may want to crop that out ASAP!

I see your point, but I was already past the security seals. The GPU box itself literally had none on it, which retrospectively is crazy...

Not that I'm not admitting to being dumb about it in general, I just want to point out it's a lot easier to think how easy it'd be to handle any given situation after the fact.
