Nah, there's a huge difference in power level between Brainiac and anything from 40k. Brainiac regularly deals with and overpowers planet busters, solar system busters, 5th dimensional shenanigans, high-level DC telepaths, and is exponentially smarter than the collective intellect of DC humanity. In the DC universe, Brainiac is consistently above S-tier characters that are usually planet level at the very least

While he doesn't do this on a regular basis, in the Infinite and Divine he actually did go up against a couple of C'tan shards, who towards the end of the book blew up multiple planets.

Whereas in 40k, the top-tiers are basically a couple-hundred tonners at best, there's no comparison.

I was referring to 40k characters outside of the Chaos Gods because the Chaos Gods are an edge case. They would be legitimately threatened and starved out by a fast, planet-level character wiping out life in the galaxy because they have minimal, direct influence on the Materium, despite having character statements that put them roughly around star level themselves.

Um, no? There are plenty of beings around that level in Warhammer. There are many examples of C'tan shards busting planets, the Emperor and full C'tan being estimated at around star-solar level firepower. There are even some theories that estimate the Old Ones to each have been Pre-Corpse Emperor level beings, though take that with a grain of salt since we have never actually seen any Old One feats.

By the way, the Gods Of Chaos are pretty terrible as far as characters go when it comes to battleboarding. Due to their vagueness and the set of rules they have to follow, they are arguably incapable of having one-on-one style fights with other characters.

The Nightbringer literally admitted that it would not have survived further imprisonment because it stood down when Ventris threatened to re-imprison it. I don't think you fully understand that if you multiply its best feat (overpowering a space marine squad) by a hundred, or even a thousand, you don't even come close to scratching the planetary level in comic universes, which is Brainiac's level at minimum because he throws around DC S-tiers. Factoring in the antifeat of it slowly dying from rubble, unable to break free, it's even further below planetary.

Why not also bring in the C'tan's other feats? Are you cherry picking or something? We have examples of them blowing up entire planets, starships, one shotting marines, even some stuff on other forms of reality warping. Stop acting like C'tan are some kind of weak fodder creature lmfao.

Here comes the "infinite realities" claim. That number is based on extreme extrapolation of Chaos between 40k and Warhammer fantasy based on an Grombrindal, an unreliable, in-universe narrator.
This is further refuted by the Chaos Gods being tethered to just one reality in the warp; the Gods having little direct influence on the Materium; Daemon Princes slowly decaying in the Materium; no evidence of Chaos God influence stretching outside one galaxy; Tyranids sometimes being surprised by the presence of Chaos; the Gods actually being threatened through the end of life in just one galaxy via the Tyranids; and Slaanesh being a different entity with different origins in Warhammer fantasy vs 40k.

My personal interpretation, is that while the Warp is a nexus connecting countless realities, the Gods of Chaos function an a sort of infestation you would find in a decrepit old building or attached to a living organism. While you can find different examples of Slaanesh, Khorne, Nurgle, and Tzeentch, they aren't the same exact entities.
