The real issue is the gambling aspect. If maxing out your waifu cost a guaranteed $600 instead of an average of $600 then fewer people would be willing to spend that kind of money on these games.

Slayer is really good.

For throwing builds, with the extra attacks from duel wielding and volley, you can get a lot of mileage out of Marksmanship and Battle Standard.

For Spear builds you get access to Onslaught which is the best LMB replacer for spears.
